"Our boss genuinely cares for us," Kira remarked with a gentle smile. "Why would you say something like that?" I inquired of my wolf, feeling a bit puzzled. "Because he keeps offering to take us home after our long shifts," she explained patiently.
"While it's considerate of him to do so, especially after we've been working late into the evening, it doesn't necessarily mean Mr. Kronos harbors any personal feelings toward us," I clarified, trying to be reassuring and rational about the situation.
She said with surprise, "He was gonna kiss us!" I responded with a touch of incredulity, "I highly doubt that, Kira. Mr. Kronos is a true gentleman and a consummate professional," I added as I finally stepped into my apartment, feeling a mix of disbelief and authority.
