Georgina closed her laptop after she finished her essay. She was bored.
Pamila called her earlier to say that she would visit her today. She didn't know why she wanted to see her, it's not unusual, but she sounds upset while they are talking, she wondered what her problem was? She always tells Noah keeps bugging her when they are at home, but Georgina knows those things are not serious.
She was humming 'Love me as you do by Ellie Goulding' using her earphone and closing her eyes while internalizing the lyrics when the bell rang in the main door. She hurried to open it, guessing her friend had arrived.
Noah was driving the car while Pamila blew her nose from crying in the passenger seat. He stays silent, listening to his almost twin sister since he is only a few months old from her.
Pamila saw their mother with her other man, just like Noah, the first time he saw their mother with another man, he felt disgusted but didn't cry as Pamila did. He turns around to see her sister. Though he loves to tease her a lot, he loves her so much he wants to protect her from pain. His grip on the stirring wheel hardened as Pamila's cry was almost hysterical.
They are driving to Georgina's house. As Pamela called her earlier, she wanted to talk to her newfound best friend. Noah's thought shifted to Georgina, he didn't like to entertain his feeling for her since he promised not to get involved with any woman, but he didn't know what position he was taken; she couldn't keep away from his thoughts.
He wanted to curse Amanda while filming Georgina on her phone when she was dared to strip. He didn't know why he felt protected by her. He doesn't want to destroy her image because he knows Amanda too well. If it were another girl, he wouldn't care.
When Pamila instructed him to stop and point Georgina's house, his thoughts were cut. Noah smiled at the thought Georgina was living in that comfortable place. He turned to Pamila, but she was still sobbing. He hurried to the porch and rang the doorbell.
Georgina was still humming her head with the music when she saw Noah at her front door. She stiffened after seeing his face and took off the earphone slowly from her ear.
" Where's Pamila?" She asks curiously. Noah didn't answer her but pointed her friend in their car. Pamila looks awful.
" What happens to her?" Georgina saw the different reaction in his face, and she almost regretted why she even asked him.
" Just talk to your friends," He was suddenly demanding. His face softened when he realized his reply.
" Just please be nice to her, I know she's your friend, and she needs you now; I hope you can help her." Georgina didn't understand what he was talking about, but she would be willing to help her if she was in trouble. She just nodded to him before he left.
Georgina helped Pamila out of the car. Before Noah left them, he gave her a final look that almost melted Georgina's heart; she wanted to smile back, but he was already gone, and she was more worried about her friend. She didn't react right away.
After hearing all Pamila's problems, Georgina didn't know how to help her, she didn't say anything, but she was tapping her shoulder the whole time.
Georgina's thought was flying to Noah; she wondered if he also knew about their family's problem and remembered his reaction when his mother was talking to Georgina when she had her breakfast in their house, now she understood why he had a sour face during that day, maybe he knows her mothers secret long before Pamila. Unlike her friend, who rushes into crying and burst out her problem. Does she wonder how Noah cope with his feeling? Georgina shakes her head to keep away from thinking about him again.
Georgina hears Pamila's whine again and tries to console her feeling.
Georgina and Pamila were watching a movie in her room when the bell in the front door rang again.
"That must be Noah; I have to go," Pamila hugged and kissed her before opening the door.
" Take care." Georgina waved at Pamila and nodded at Noah when she saw him. Noah smiled at her, the most friendly smile she had seen after she had known him. She couldn't help but smile back at him. When they were gone, she blushed and touched her chest as her heart was still skipping. It was difficult for her to sleep, and she was still staring at her ceiling when her cellphone notification sounded.
She grabbed her cellphone, thinking about her friend. She got up in a sitting position when she saw an unknown number. She smiled when she read the message and guessed the sender.
"Thank you for comforting her. Noah." Georgina smiled.
"That's my job as her friend." Her reply.
She waited for another message, but it took a few minutes before her phone sounded again.
" I wish I had someone who comforted me," her heart fluttered after reading his last message.
" What do you mean?" she didn't want to giggle, but she laughed.
" I didn't do much really, just listen to her whine all day." putting a smiley face in her last sentence wanted to give the rational conversation
"She can be a cry baby sometimes." Noah reply.
" I understand your sister." Georgina.
Another long reply before her phone beeped.
"I knew our mother's infidelity ago; I knew how she feels." Noah's revelation was unexpected to Georgina.
She didn't know how to answer him because they hadn't talked that much and she barely knew him.
She wishes she knew how to console his feelings. Unlike Pamila, she already knew most of her flaws because they are friends.
" I'm sorry to hear that, Noah."
Even without seeing him, she could feel his pain. She was thankful he trusted her with his feelings. Georgina waited for his reply, but he never replied to her again after that last message.
