Noah and I left the vault and quietly made our way out of the tunnels. A matching keypad was mounted on the wall next to the top of the ladder at the exit. Noah punched in the code, and the door opened slowly. He peered out and gestured for me to follow him out.
“Hey,” a voice rang out just as I was climbing out, and Noah cursed. A security guard had just turned the corner and spotted us.
“Run, Gia,” Noah whisper-shouted, pushing me in the opposite direction of the way we had come and closed the trap door of the tunnel quickly.
