CHAPTER 40. “...JUST WHY?” ANDREA. One morning, I decided to go myself with cleaning the windows in the east wing of my Chambers when I first heard two maids discussing downstairs. It was a warm day and the sun was shining bright through the glass panes. They were cleaning also, and were saying something to themselves the whole time. I didn't want to eavesdrop though, since I figured out it would be a gossip about someone from the Packhouse. From the way they were talking it seemed as if it was a very serious subject. They were still speaking when one of them interrupted the other. "That reminds me. Have you heard about Valerie?" She asked the other maid, and my interest was instantly piqued the moment she mentioned that name. Whatever it was about Valerie, it couldn't be good,
