Chapter 11“Where are you taking us?” Lisa asked with a crack in her voice. She sat on the thinly carpeted floor of the cargo van, her legs coiled under her and her back against the wall opposite of the side door. She returned to shushing Hannah, holding the girl against her chest. “That’s a good question, Pops,” said the younger man. He sat behind the wheel, leaning forward with his head bouncing nervously between the side mirrors. He no longer wore his mask but had pulled the rearview mirror downward so those behind him couldn’t see his face. “Why don’t you say it again, just in case they’re complete morons and haven’t figured it out yet?” growled the older man.
