Chapter 19Sean gasped and lunged forward, dropping to his knees in the dirt beside Lisa. His heart pumped with panic through his body. “Jesus! Lisa!” Sean dropped the rifle. He placed his hands carefully on Lisa’s shoulders. When he felt her recoil from his touch, he knew she was still alive. “Are you shot?” he quickly asked. Her hand slid up from under her and went to the side of her head. “No,” she said in disorientation. “Hit my head.” Air rushed from Sean’s lungs.
