Chapter 4: The Unknown
Aurora's heart raced as she followed the stranger through the winding streets of the old town, the ancient map clutched in his hand. They moved with a sense of urgency, as if the fate of the world depended on their swift departure. As they left the town behind, the landscape shifted to rolling hills and dense forests, the trees growing taller and darker with each step. The air thickened with an eerie silence, punctuated only by the soft rustling of leaves beneath their feet."Where are we going?" Aurora asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The stranger's gaze remained fixed on the path ahead. "Eldarath lies hidden within the Heartwood Forest. But be warned, the journey is treacherous, and the forest is full of secrets."
Aurora's mind swirled with questions, but the stranger's enigmatic smile was the only response she received.
As night began to fall, they arrived at the forest's edge, where the trees loomed like sentinels guarding ancient secrets. The stranger produced a small pouch containing a silver compass, its needle glowing with an ethereal light."This will guide us through the Heartwood," he said, his eyes glinting in the fading light. "Stay close, and trust no one."With that, they stepped into the unknown, the darkness swallowing them whole.
