Chapter 4

It's been about two weeks since I've seen Athena but I and Haven have been meeting every evening for training, he was actually more experienced than I thought and a very good teacher too. He has been taking this training very seriously, and as much as I hate that he is so hard on me, but I know that he's doing it because he cares . It was time for our evening training and I rushed down to the training grounds to find that he was already there. The training ground we were using , or training grass rather , was a clear field behind the school building where we train . It was the field we usually used during the beast training class but we borrowed it each evening for practice. " Hi Haven" I said as his gaze finally flickered towards me , " Hi Serena, didn't see you there " Haven answered, " don't worry, I totally didn't just see you meditating midair" I answered. " Let that be between us please?" Haven asked, " totally I won't tell a soul" I answered, " but why keep it a secret, it's pretty cool" I asked . " Nothing just don't tell anyone. Let's get to training" Haven answered, I wanted to pressure him to tell him but he already looked uncomfortable, I could see it in his posture even though he tried to hide it under those bright turquoise eyes. Whatever he was hiding was deep and I don't think he's in the right mood to tell anyone about it. I laughed out the awkward silence between us and his shoulders seemed to relax a bit under the leather jacket. " So you'll teach me to do that one day right" I asked , " probably, if you're a fast learner" Haven answered . After that Haven pulled off his leather jacket and placed on a rock on the grass and then we started training, Haven told me that doves have colour vision, meaning they can see UV rays that other beasts can't . He also told me that's how doves find their way even in fogs . After telling me all that , Haven started leading me back into the school building and then I asked if training was over already and he said no , that we just started, then I asked where we were going and he said I should wait and see. As we were walking through the dimly lit hallways I finally noticed that Haven looked different on a tank top. He usually wore shirts that covered his upper body completely so it was hard to tell what really was under there but with a tank top I could see most of his arms . The guy was ripped, like a body builder ripped, the arm muscles were tightened and I could see the rock hard biceps even under the tank top . How have I not noticed this before? , to be sincere he looked easy on the eyes this way , not that he wasn't still handsome on his long sleeved shirts but on a tank top he looked way more athletic than I thought. Why was I thinking of this now? , luckily Haven snapped me out of my little day dream, " We're here" he said , " where is here" I asked while examining the place we were in. Pertaining to the couple of seats I just bumped into and the white board I would say that it was a classroom. " Why are we in a classroom?" I asked in a surprised tone, " I needed somewhere close to test this ability" Haven answered. He then started covering all the windows and curtains while leaving the door open and handed me a blind fold. I looked at him confused and then he explained that doves can see UV rays , like he said before so I'll find my way out of the classroom if I'm able to see the little light rays coming from the classroom door . I put on the blindfold and tried to focus but all I could see was darkness, " don't focus on what you can see, focus on what you can't see, Serena" Haven said. I took a deep breath and tried again, still nothing, then I took a deep breath and murmured the words Haven just told me and finally I could see, I could see the classroom clearly, almost like I wasn't blindfolded. I walked towards the light trying my best to not hit any seats and after about five minutes, I reached the door and Haven helped me take off the blindfold . " Wow! That was awesome, it was like I could see everything even blindfolded" I shouted ecstatic " you're one step closer to fully harnessing the dove's powers" Haven said and hit me slightly with his shoulder and said " good job , Serena. You're a fast learner" . After that we headed back outside . " It's late , we should get some sleep" Haven said , " yeah , and thanks for training me" I said , " you're welcome, it's what friends are for . See you later , Serena . Good night" Haven answered " Good night, bye! " I said and waved off , heading towards the girls dormitory. That was a good training and it might come in handy too , some day . By the way, it's been quite long since I've seen Athena , I hope she's fine admist all this chaos. I should probably check up on her sometimes later just to ensure she's fine.
