Haven and Athena called for a meeting at our usual spot which is a not so popular cafe down our school street called Beoffe , we mostly love it cause it's always quiet and the WiFi is always on, I mean who doesn't like free WiFi?. I wonder if they've discovered anything or if it's something else , they said it's really urgent so I should go . I also think it will be the right time to tell them that I'm participating in the clash , I wonder what they'll say. I have finally reached the cafe and I can spot Haven and Athena sitting on the table next to the windows, I was first welcomed by Athena's bright brown eyes like she's excited about something and Haven's playful smile. Ohh what I wouldn't give for these two , they are my ride or die. " Hey guys " I said as I sat down on the empty seat next to Haven, " hi Serena" Athena said right after . " So , why did you guys call so urgently , What's the problem" I said as their gaze fixed on me. " We discovered something huge , Serena and we just couldn't wait to tell you" Haven said , " I'm all ears guys , what is it "I said almost immediately. " We asked one of the elders who experienced the last clash of the beasts and he told us that all the other contestants' beasts except Lord Bullard's were very weak almost like they've been poisoned" Athena said . Then I asked who lord Bullard was and Haven told me that he was lord Kingston's half-brother. Apparently, their father married two wives, one from the gold clan and the other from the quartz clan so Lord Bullard and Lord Kingston have the same father but they're from different clans . Then I said " so what you both are telling me is that, Lord Kingston fought in the clash against his own half-brother Lord Bullard and you think Lord Bullard might have poisoned the animals of the other contestants so he can win . If that's even true then why didn't he win" , Athena then answered, " we haven't figured that out yet but I think we're really close to discovering the truth" . " Then I'll have to be careful then" i said totally under my breath, almost to myself . " What do you mean you'll have to be careful,are you participating " Haven suddenly asked and they were both glaring at me, waiting for an explanation. " Ok , the truth is . Yeah , I'm participating in the next clash of the beasts " I said in an apologetic tone . " Why ? , I thought you hated this stuff" Athena inquired. " Exactly, that's why I'm participating. If I win I'll be a fair and just ruler , I'll tend to the need of the people and hopefully put an end to these clashes and disputes among the clans " I answered . " Fine then . If that's what it is then we'll help you and it can also be of huge help to us . Since you are participating, you can help us finally get to the bottom of the mystery" Haven said . " Yes I agree, but you should have told us sooner Serena" Athena said and then I explained that I wanted to tell them but I was nervous concerning what they'll think. After that we chatted for a little while before heading home , I and Haven headed in the direction towards the school building while Athena headed towards the next street, she said she wants to meet up with a friend there . As I and Haven were nearly approaching the school, he told me that he would train me since we both had the dove as our beasts and he was more experienced than me due to his mom's teaching, she was also a dove bearer . I thanked him and rushed off to class, I was almost late and Mrs Perkins doesn't take late coming very well .
