"The buyer of this mansion is you?" the manager stammered, eyes wide with fear as she stared at Jack. She couldn't believe what she'd just done. She had demanded that a billionaire leave Dragon Crest and even insulted him. She must be out of her mind!
The young woman finally processed what was happening, her eyes full of disbelief. 'How could these lowlifes afford such an expensive mansion? There must be some mistake. They must have stolen the keys!'
With that thought, she quickly said, "Miss, don't believe them! They must have stolen the keys. There's no way they could afford such a luxurious mansion. Call the police!"
The manager looked at her as if she were an i***t. "Are you questioning the security of Dragon Crest's sales center? These smart keys are identity-bound. Even if I gave you the key, you wouldn't be able to access this mansion without buying it!"
This immediately left the young woman stunned. She stood there, speechless.
Then the manager hurriedly apologized to Jack, "Mr. Steele, I had no idea you were the owner. I was misled by these two into saying disrespectful things to you. Please forgive my rudeness."
As she spoke, she subtly tugged at her neckline, exposing her cleavage in hope of winning Jack's forgiveness with a little extra effort.
But Jack had no interest in such tricks. And he wasn't about to stoop to her level. At that moment, the security guards the manager had summoned arrived.
The manager pointed at the young couple. "It was these two who insulted our special resident. Remove them immediately and blacklist them from purchasing any property at Dragon Crest forever!"
The young couple's faces filled with despair as the security guards moved to escort them out, ignoring their pleas.
"Sir, are you satisfied with this outcome?" the manager asked with a fawning smile. "I apologize again for not recognizing you."
Jack said nothing, walking directly into the mansion. Drake motioned for the manager to leave. Relieved, the manager scurried away.
Drake followed Jack inside. "Sir, that woman was actually..." "I know," Jack interrupted. "She's the wife of Edwin's brother, isn't she?"
Edwin's brother was a subordinate son-in-law to the Carter family. Lily was part of the same family. The woman did bear some resemblance to Lily.
Drake nodded, fuming. "I can't believe she has another man. I feel bad for Edwin's brother!"
Jack said, turning to face Drake. "So, do you think Edwin's brother willingly became a subordinate son-in-law to the Carter family? He must have other plans. We'll meet him tomorrow and find out."
"Sir, tomorrow is the Steele family's banquet," Drake reminded him.
Jack nodded. "Get some soldiers from the nearest military base. We'll make an appearance."
"Yes, sir!" Drake responded eagerly.
The following evening, the Eastwoods Hotel was bustling. The Carters had rented the entire sixth floor to celebrate Jack's birthday. The Steeles occupied the eighth floor to host a high-ranking military guest.
While the Carter family wasn't as powerful as the Steeles, they were still influential among the top-tier families in Wyndcrest. Many prominent figures came to offer their congratulations. Lily stood at the entrance, greeting guests with a sweet smile.
Henry and Tom were also at the door, welcoming guests on behalf of the Steele family. Tom's eyes roved over Lily's curvaceous figure with lustful intent.
Meanwhile, Lily anxiously awaited Jack's arrival, but there was no sign of him. "Did he not see my message?" she wondered, worried. Just then, a refined voice spoke behind her. "Miss Carter, I'm Tom Steele. Nice to meet you, may we be friends?"
Lily turned to see a handsome man with a charming yet sinister smile extending his hand. She knew he was from the Steele family and didn't dare refuse.
Just as she was about to shake his hand, she saw Jack and Drake approaching. "Jack!" she called out joyfully, completely ignoring Tom's darkening expression as she ran toward Jack.
Jack frowned slightly, looking at the delicate girl in front of him. "Is it your birthday tonight?"
"Yes, I sent you a message. Did you get it?" Lily asked nervously.
Though Jack hadn't seen any message, he nodded.
"Then come in. I need to talk to you later," Lily said happily, taking Jack's arm and leading him inside.
As they reached the door, Henry stepped in front of them, sneering maliciously. "You little bastard, you dared to show up!"
"Don't misunderstand," Jack replied calmly. "I'm here to celebrate my classmate's birthday."
Henry snickered loudly. "You coward, using such a pathetic excuse. Aren't you ashamed?"
Ignoring Henry's mockery, Jack spoke in a steady tone. "I'll celebrate my classmate's birthday first, then I'll come for your life. From now on, her birthday will be your deathday!"
"How dare you, you bastard!" Henry roared, raising his hand to strike Jack.
Smack! A crisp sound echoed as Drake grabbed Henry's wrist, immobilizing him.
"Show respect to Mr. Steele," Drake warned coldly.
"Tell your servant to let go of me!" Henry roared, his eyes red with rage.
"He's not a servant. He's my blood brother," Jack said calmly, then glanced at Drake. "Drake, he insulted you. Handle it yourself." With that, he walked into the hotel with Lily.
Henry tried to stop them, but a sharp pain in his wrist made him scream, overwhelming his senses.
"Ah!!" Henry Steele screamed in agony, staring at the exposed bone from his broken wrist, nearly fainting from the pain. The entrance of the Eastwoods Hotel immediately descended into chaos.
