The old man was strangled to the point of suffocation, his eyes wide open, unable to speak. His body struggled in the air but couldn't break free. With a light flick, Jack threw him a few feet away.
"Get out of here before I kill someone!" Jack said coldly. He was heading to the Icarus family for medical treatment, and it wouldn't be good to arrive covered in blood.
The old man was reluctant to accept defeat but, fearing Jack's strength and speed, he ran away.
"Man, where did you learn those skills? They're amazing!" the young man asked curiously.
Jack ignored him and continued on his way, but the young man kept talking to himself.
Finally, they reached deep into the dense forest. An old-looking courtyard appeared before them — it must be the residence of the Icarus family.
Jack was just about to step forward when the young man suddenly clutched his stomach and said, "Ouch, just wait for me to go to the toilet first!" With that, he trotted into the dense forest beside them.
Jack didn't care and walked straight toward the courtyard gate. Just as he arrived at the door and was about to knock, he heard the loud exhaust sound of a luxury car behind him. A man and woman, both dressed extravagantly and looking very arrogant, got out of the car.
"What are you looking at, bumpkin? If you keep staring, I'll gouge out your eyes!" the woman said disdainfully as she passed by Jack.
Although the man said nothing, he looked at Jack with the same disdain.
Jack did not argue with them and came to the door of the courtyard. When the woman saw Jack again, she shouted angrily, "Why are you following us? Get lost, or I'll teach you a lesson!"
"I'm here to visit the Icarus family," Jack said lightly.
"What did you say?" The woman was stunned and then burst out laughing. "Do you even know what the Icarus family is? Are all bumpkins this brazen now? How dare you claim to visit a hidden family! Don't make jokes here!"
Jack frowned. He had urgent matters to attend to and didn't want to waste time with them. Just as he was about to knock on the door, the man behind him said, "Stop! If you dare to knock, I'll cut off your hand!"
In the face of provocation, Jack glanced back, but the man knocked on the door first.
The man then proudly said, "A bumpkin like you must not know that the Icarus family only receives one guest a month. If you knock on the door, we'll have to wait for another month. Our time is more valuable than yours, understand?"
"Creak..."
The courtyard door opened, and a man dressed like a butler came out. "Who knocked?"
"I did," the man said.
The butler nodded. As he was about to escort his guests in, Jack said, "Wait a minute, I came first."
The butler stopped and asked, "Did you knock on the door just now?"
Jack shook his head.
"That's right. We only receive guests who knock on the door," the butler said.
Hearing this, the couple sneered at Jack disdainfully. 'How dare an ignorant bumpkin compete with us for the spot? He doesn't deserve it at all.'
"If you don't let me in, I'll tear down the door," Jack said directly, his eyes cold. He didn't know the visiting rules, but he couldn't wait for a month, so he had to be forceful.
"What did you say?!" The butler stopped smiling. "You dare cause trouble with the Icarus family? You're courting death!"
As the butler reached for his walkie-talkie, the man intervened, "Please wait a moment. I'll handle this!"
The man approached Jack arrogantly. "You bumpkins are just good-for-nothings who've never seen the world. In this world, there are powers that trash like you can't..." "Bang!" Before he could finish, Jack punched him in the face.
"You talk too much." Jack had run out of patience. He asked the butler, "If I kill both of them, will I be the only guest today?"
The butler was stunned and didn't know how to respond.
The woman, however, was furious. "How dare you hurt my brother? You're courting death!" She walked quickly toward Jack and was about to kick him.
Seeing the slow attack, Jack easily grabbed her ankle and flung her aside. The woman slammed into a tree trunk nearby.
"Alright, can I go in now?" Jack asked the butler.
"No... No, that's not how it works!" The butler stammered, his face pale with fear.
"Then don't force me to break in," Jack said. Just as he finished speaking, he heard a voice from behind. The man who had been knocked down was trying to attack him again.
Jack kicked him to the ground again. The man shouted angrily at the car, "Leopard, are you just standing there? Get out here!"
A sloppy-looking man emerged from the car. He wore a suit that hadn't been washed in a long time, and his beard was unkempt as he yawned.
"Sir, I'm here. I'll deal with him in three seconds!" As soon as he finished speaking, he rushed at Jack and threw a punch. Jack tilted his head to dodge and punched Leopard in the chest.
"Bang!" Leopard flew back and crashed into the luxury car, leaving a deep dent.
