Harry and Autumn walked up to them almost ten minutes late.
“Your late.”
“Dumb b***h w***e made us wait till after the bell. Apparently “The bell doesn’t mean it’s time to go”.” he said in a high-pitched voice.
They all laughed they’d all heard it before from all of their tutors.
“She let us go table by table she made me and Autumn stay back. She wants us to write a paper about relationships and attraction you know.”
“Should’ve paired Con and autumn together for that aye Autumn!!!”
She stood saying nothing.
“So have you got to work together?”
“That’s what paired is Jae, you dummy. She wants us to show our findings to all of the class. What a bitch.”
“You’re not saying much Autumn.”
“Could be interesting.”
“You best keep your d**k down Haz?”
He snarled.
“Come on we’ve all got homes to get to.”
They all walked away saying their goodbyes.
“So are you going to bail out 9n me this weekend too?”
“No, she’s given us time in the lesson to do it she said it was best to research it out of the classroom and in the library she’s going to give us time in the computers.”
“It’s going to be hard with only two weeks left to Christmas babe.”
“I know.”
“I’ll see you here tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
He kissed her on the cheek. “Night babe.”
“Night Con.”
He smiled walking away.
Gaz spread his hand over her eyes. “Guess who?”
“Gaz.”
He dropped his hands off her eyes, his eyes sparkled in the afternoon sun. “So how long have we got?”
“Till seven. Mom took a dig at me.’
“Why?’
“Mom thought I was going out with you.”
“We are aren’t we?”
“It’s best not to tell her.”
“You’ll have to tell her sooner or later Autumn.”
“I know, but it’s best if she thinks that we’re just friends for now.”
“Sure thing.” He said pulling her close. “I’ve missed you.” He pressed his lips on hers, kissing her hungrily before she had a chance to reflect.
He kissed her harder and harder with his tongue. He pulled away, placing his arm around her. “Don’t forget next weekend. Il picks you up and we’ll spend time on our own.”
“What about mom?”
“Lie. I don’t care as long as we spend all day together.”
“What about Jae, what about Con?”
“Jae won’t be there I promise.”
“Bu..”
He looked at her.
“Okay.” She sighed.
“Let’s just walk across the lake tonight.”
“Okay.”
He took her hand in his arms they walked across the lake sitting down. “I guess it’s weird sitting this side hugh?”
“A little.”
He pulled her close. “We should do lunch or late supper out here.”
“Mmh,” she said, placing her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes.
“Autumn babe, it’s nearly seven.”
“Mmh.”
“Your mom called.”
Her eyes shot open. “What?!”
“Your mom called she said your supper was ready. I said I’d pass the message on.”
“You answered my phone?!”
“I tried to wake you.”
“I’m in the shit.”
“Lie to her you’re good at that.”
“I have to go Gaz.”
“Sure. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said, quickly kissing her.
She pulled herself up and was gone. She closed the door behind her.
“I thought that you said you weren’t involved with that boy, or should I say, man.”
“We’re just friends.”
“So is Connor and he’d be a better company to you than a trouble maker.”
“He’s not Mom.”
“He’s too old for you.”
“Nothing is going on..”
“Good cause if there was I suggest that you stop it right now or you’ll end up like another statistic.”
“What do you take me for mom?”
“Boys want one thing Autumn and once they’ve had it they’ll drop you like a sack of shit.”
“This is Taylor all over again mom.”
“And I was right about him.”
“Nothing ever happened and it’s not now. Goodnight.” She said, turning and running up the stairs. She fell to her bed tears hitting the pillow what sort of person did her mom take her for?
6th December
Conner met Autumn on the bridge walking to school where they met their friends.
“About time it’s almost time for the bell.”
“Sorry.”
“What were you and Autumn doing that made you late?”
“Nothing.”
“Bull s**t!’ James coughed.
“f**k you! let’s go.”
The bell rang and they all went in for registration and their first two lessons before the break.
Autumn stood smoking waiting for Connor as Daniel approached her. “Con running late?”
She looked up at Dan. “Yeah.”
“Come on you two I’ve heard sour face was on the warpath, again!”
“Coming.”
They all went on to their next lesson.
Once the lesson had finished they all walked aimlessly out of class.
“Hey, Red wait up!”
“I have to go Dan.”
“I’ll walk with you.”
“Fine.”
“So are you looking forward to the movie?”
“I guess..”
They walked up to Connor and went into registration.
They all said their goodbyes before heading to their lessons.
Autumn lit a cigarette Daniel joined her light in one. “So I take it Con is late again?”
“Looks that way.”
“Sorry I’m late babe, the class got held up.” Connor said, approaching them.
Connor took the cigarette off Autumn taking the last few drags. “Where’re the guys?”
“Here damn f*****g teacher.”
“Snap.”
They lit their cigarettes smoking them before the bell rang for the end of the break.
“So we’ll see you at lunch.”
“You will.”
They all went into lessons.
“So what did Dan want?”
“Nothing.” She lied.
“So can we do something Saturday?”
“I don’t know Con.”
“About three. I’ll meet you by the river okay.”
“Okay.”
They sat down taking their books and pens out. They walked out of the lesson after the lunch bell rang got their lunch sitting down to eat. Daniel looked over at her slyly.
“So are we all meeting up Saturday?”
“Yeah, about six. I’m meeting Autumn first, then we’ll all meet up.”
“Cinema it is.”
“Sure.”
“Dan you coming?”
“Wouldn’t miss it.”
“Sweet.”
They all went outside to have a cigarette before their last lesson before lunch. James tapped the chair next to him. She slipped into it.
“So are you still cool with hanging with us on Saturday? I know you and Con usually spend your weekends together.”
“It’s fine, you’re my friends too.”
He smiled as the tutor began their lesson. James and Autumn walked out of the class. “So do we have the pleasure of you walking home with us tonight?”
“You do.”
He smiled.
They met up with Connor and the others. Connor dropped his arm over her shoulders. “So Jae keep you company?”
“We were in a lesson together.’
“Oh yeah, sorry I forgot.”
Daniel sat next to Autumn during their next lesson together.
“Right class settle down.”
Connor dropped his arm over her shoulders. “Let’s make tracks the guys are waiting.”
They all walked out of school Daniel looking to meet their friends by the gates walking away.
“Well, I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”
“Yeah later.”
Connor, Daniel and Autumn walked across the bridge.
“Well, I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”
“Sure.”
“Later.”
“Yeah later.”
Daniel walked away leaving Autumn and Connor alone they looked over the lake the water rippling.
“Well, I’ll see you, tomorrow babe.” Connor said pecking her in the cheek.
“Yeah, later.”
“Later, Babe.”
“Yeah later.”
