Genevieve raises an eyebrow, challenging, because of course it doesn’t seem to be nothing but she brings it back down, dropping the subject.
She knows when not to push things as well.
Even though, Clay knows how much her friend adored the new CEO, whom Vee has a few conversations with. She always gushes about how he was perfectly kind and hot he is, which she grimaces at the thought. After what she saw last, she couldn’t imagine him even smiling.
“Hey Vee,” Clay calls her friend, who’s now busy trying on a pair of glasses, “can you promise me something?”
“Hm?” she states, glasses slipping at the tip of her nose, “what is it?”
She knew that what she was about to ask was weird, especially asked out of the blue and out of place without her friend having no idea why, but she tries to anyways, “The new CEO… Can you promise me to stay away from that man?”
“Nonono- it’s not what you think it is- don’t give me that look,” Clay rambles, seeing the confused look the redhead was giving her. "He is conceited, arrogant-" she goes on as she tries to defend herself, to convey whatever reason was behind the request without actually telling, and it's frustrating when no words seem to be right.
Obviously, communicating is not her strongest suit.
“You don’t even see each other, Clay” Vee states. Which was a fact. They don’t usually cross paths at all, not until a bad one, it seems.
The blonde sighs, giving up, “I know it sounds weird, but can you please do it for me?”
“He’s not what you think he is,” Clay added, “and you're very important to me.”
Vee went silent for a minute, before smirking, eyes playfully teasing, “you know I’m only yours.”
Clay groans, face palming, "I'm serious."
Vee laughs, "alright, alright."
"I don't know what that was about, but I trust you so... I'll approach him only for work reasons," the redhead says.
"Thankyou!" Clay hugs her.
"And besides, it's not a loss anyway." Genevieve then flips her hair, "Girl, I could pull other asses like that."
