Nineth

The thing about New York, is that everything seems to be in fast forward. A crowd of variety, in tailored suits, in dresses, or in creative outfits of colors, wearing shades half as big as their head. They walk in style, but everyone seems to be in a hurry, with coffee cups in their hands. A day in New York is far from a day in Clay’s hometown, where it settles as calmly as the sun sets. Truth be told, she finds herself in that fast-paced crowd, with every work and hassle she does for a dream. A dream- she wonders if everyone out of the pristine glass of the store that separates them, is chasing a dream too. This beautiful place could be so chaotic, she thought. Could be so harsh… “Are you okay?” Genevieve’s voice pulls her out of trance, her eyebrows furrowed in concern, “you don’t seem to be yourself.” The redhead just came from the cashier, bags in hand after paying for the clothes she was trying on earlier. Clay wonders if she should tell her best friend about what happened last night. She wants to- but she doesn’t. Clay thinks that Janet wouldn’t want her to tell anyone about her personal business, especially judging by how the supervisor reacted last night, when she only wanted to help. Clay shakes her head, “nothing.”
