“S- -Selen--a, is that you? Hazel asks her voice shaking, before her stood a wolf with grey
fur and brown eyes. The brown eyes felt familiar to her. She started hearing sounds of bones
breaking she closes her eyes and flinches at each sound. She opens her eyes when she hears
Selena's angry voice “why don't you ever listen to me”.
“So you're a wolf?” Hazel asks in disbelief instead of answering Selena's question.
“Yes I am, now answer my question what were you doing outside when I warned you not to
leave the house?” Selena asks with gritted teeth and her eyes popping out in anger.
“The black wolf” Hazel suddenly remembers the wolf she met in the forest and tries to run in
that direction when Selena pulls her into the house.
“Please let me go and save the wolf, he is injured and alone in the forest” Hazel says as she
struggles to remove her hand from Selena's strong grip.
“You should be worried about yourself” Selena says while rolling her eyes.
“Why?” Hazel asks.
“The wolf you foolishly ran after is the Alpha of this pack and he hates strangers, besides
wolves don't die that easily and I already called his beta”.
“How and when did you call anyone?”
Hazel asks in confusion.
“I called him through the pack link, that should be the least of your worries because once he
wakes up he would summon you and kill you in front of everyone just like he has been killing
any stranger that comes into our pack”.
“H- He would k- -kill me?” Hazel asks as blood drains from her face in fear.
“Selena please help me I don't want to die, I can't die I still have to look for my parents”. Hazel
pleads with tears in her eyes
“I won't let you die, remember I said I would always protect you” Selena cups Hazel's cheeks
and pat her hair tenderly.
“I know I have a lot to explain and am sorry for keeping my secret from you I didn't want you to fear or hate me." Selena begs with her eyes downcast.
Hazel moves closer to her and hugs her “I could never hate you Selena, I was just startled the
other time and you are beautiful no matter which form you take”. Hazel comforts Selena.
“I promise to tell you everything tomorrow, but for now let's go to bed” Hazel nods gently
“Good night Hazel “ Selena says as she walks to her room.
“Good night Selena” Hazel stays in the sitting room a little longer before sighing heavily and
walking to her room.
Hazel drags her feet to the sitting area looking tired with bags under her eyes. She couldn't
sleep a wink yesterday night. She kept worrying about the black wolf, if he was alright and if he
was going to kill her and what Selena was going to do, she was also worried about putting
Selena in trouble.
Speaking of which, she hadn't seen or heard from Selena that morning and she had been
awake for a while. She was thinking about Selena when Selena walks in.
“Morning Hazel, you have become quite popular overnight”. Selena says
“What do you mean?” Hazel asks in confusion.
“The whole town is talking about the purple eyes human who saved their Alpha”.
“I didn't save him, but how did they find out?”
“Someone probably saw you, I wonder why you haven't been summoned to the pack meeting
room yet”. Selena asks deep in thought.
“Has the black wolf, I mean the Alpha woken up”. Hazel asks with interest.
Selena nods her head, “that's a relief” Hazel says releasing the breath she didn't know she was
holding.
They sit in silence for a few minutes before Selena starts her story
“My parents were betas of the Shadow pack, you already know so much about werewolves so
you would understand most things anything you don't understand ask me”. Hazel nods in
response.
“Anyway, as I was saying, my parents were the betas of the shadow moon pack and best
friends with the Alpha and Luna then. This pack is the blood moon pack so of course this wasn't
my pack before”.
“My parents and I were happy, but all hell was let loose when the Alpha and Luna were
murdered in cold blood, a war started and mom took me to a town called Oakwood to stay with
humans to keep me safe”.
“She promised to come back but she never did” Hazel places her hand over Selena's to
comfort her silently.
“Our pack won the war but I was told my parents were killed while trying to protect the Alpha's
children. Nobody knows whether the children are alive or dead, they were never heard of
again”.
“I was staying with a woman who claimed to be my stepmom though my dad didn't marry her
legally,she was human, she was pregnant at the time I came to stay with her”.
“The lady was very nice to me, but she changed when she learnt that I was a werewolf she
had a miscarriage, she blamed me and started telling everyone I was a monster who ate her
baby, Everyone believed her and started calling me a baby eating monster, she would starve
me, beat me up and lock me in a dark room”.
“One day she gave me a lot of food and I was very happy thinking she had changed, it was
only later I realized that she drugged me and sold me to the slave house where I met you”.
“I was scared to tell you because I thought you would call me a monster and hate me”.
Hazel shakes her head and pulls Selena closer for a hug “I told you already I would never
hate you, you were the only one who supported me in the slave house so why would I hate you?
You're not a monster, you're the most kind hearted person I know” Hazel comforts her.
Adolphus regained consciousness a few hours ago and have not said a word, Lyall his beta
and best friend was worried and didn't know what to do.
“She's my mate” Adolphus says with a deep frown settling on his handsome face.
Lyall was excited “ really, is that why you have been quite?”
“I can't accept her”
“Why can't you?” Lyall asks with furrowed brows “It doesn't matter that she's human w- -”
“She isn't human” Adolphus interrupts Lyall. “She's the cursed Omega we were told about, the one with purple eyes, she can't stay in my pack."
"She has to die!!"
"What!!!!?"
