I've had enough fun, let the rest of them enter. Callister: as you command. AI: Stellar Vortex system activated, initiating teleportation. Williams: how much oxygen is left? Reaper: we have 4 hours of oxygen. If only this place hadn't been destroyed, we could have gotten a refill. The leaks were the problem. Williams: The captain did what he thought was right... t-the ultimate... sacrifice. Reaper: Jericho's model was capable of withstanding such that kind of explosion. I don't get it.Williams: sometimes the situation outweighs the statistics Reaper, that's inevitable. Reaper: I hope they're all right. Williams: *sighs* let's set up another beacon a few miles west, hopefully we can get the team back together. Damn Jacobs for going to look for them on his own, who knows if he's not dead yet. Reaper: don't get cocky about it, let's keep going. Williams: all right. *Stands up* Williams: huh? Strange circular deformations begin to appear in the sky, scaring Williams. Williams: zoom in on that crap. Reaper: ok. Williams: What the hell? Reaper: It's a whole fleet, and it's headed for-. Williams: Earth, we've got to find them fast and get out of here! John: thanks Orion. Get inside quickly, the hull will reseal! All: yes sir! Pilot: VA-55 within established perimeter, confirm hull seal. John: do it. Jenkins: watch out! *Explosion* Within seconds, my interface went critical and my visor was cracked, my vision was blurry for a few moments and there was an annoying ringing in my ears. John: what... what the hell? *Heavy footsteps* A huge, dark figure was slowly coming down from the ruins and stacked corpses. I feared for what was going to happen. Orion: secondary conductor leak detected, reactor at half of its capacity. External armor destroyed, left thruster damaged. Internal shielding at 44%. John: w-what...? Duriel: you Terrans are very easy for me to defeat, this conquest of the hierarch will be a delight for me and the other corsairs. Ricotta: I-I d-don't... f-feel... my l-legs... uhh. Duriel: I will give you a few minutes to surrender. After that, I will reduce your little ship to ashes. Heavy: commander, I-I am at your disposal. I've got that bastard in my firing range. Sparks and leaks now surrounded me as I was still in shock. John: stand by... instructions. Tyrael: this is boring. Litao: I want to kill them already. Nicer: they'll make a nice trophy in my collection. Heavy: more of those fuckers have arrived. Three of them. Orion: Even if we could get up and stand up, it would be useless. Half of the weapons are damaged, what will you try? John: I don't know yet, but time is running out. We must think. Special Tactical Operations Headquarters, Russia, January 17, 2095. The driver adjusts his helmet and invites them to get in. Pentecost gets in and places his briefcase to the side. Gerald: I hope you know what you're doing. Ah! A quake shook the structure and some small debris fell from the roof. Pentecost: what happened? Gerald: I don't know. Adjutant: total failure of the Orbital Network, the reflective field, s-simply destroyed it completely! Gerald: i-it's not... f**k! Driver: colonel! *Points* The young soldier points to a black mark in the sky, which seems to be attacking a nearby town. Following this, more of these marks cover the sky in just a few minutes. Then, a warp appears. They didn't know what was coming next though. Pentecost: drive off! Gerald: good luck! The vehicle's engine purrs and then speeds off along the rail on which it is located. *Starts walking* Gerald: I want every team out here with their fingers on the trigger, now! Assistant: yes sir. Gerald: I must warn the governments, and fast. A.R.D.A.-131 storage hangar, Berlin, January 18, 2095, Doom's Day. (Sumo Pentecost) *Shootings* Well, things aren't burning here in Berlin. They are literally on fire! Driver: hold on! Burning or crumbling buildings and mechanized divisions everywhere, facing dark beasts thirsting for its blood. Flestafen-45 fighters fly overhead and blue flashes of ionized gunfire can be seen everywhere. As if that weren't enough, more "portals" open up in the sky. Bringing with them more enemy fleets that the planetary anti-aircraft are struggling to eliminate.   Pentecost: How much longer?! Driver: a few minutes colonel, but I don't know if we will arrive in one piece! Pentecost: this is Pentecost, I'm approaching your position. I need the hangar entrance open now! Silas: Charlie? Is that you? Pentecost: Doc, this is top priority. I need to get in! Silas: sure, uh... just let me find the button... mmm... oh, here it is! Driver: what the hell's wrong with the track!? Pentecost: something that will surprise you more than you know and if you divulge it, it will kill you. Driver: what!? Pentecost: everything you see after this entrance is a state secret, not even the high command knows about it. Driver: not a word sir, understood. We enter the subway tunnel to the Secret Hangar and stop there, the moment of truth is near. ____________________________________________ Next chapter: Invasion. The second fall of Berlin.
