Epilogue

389 Words
Everything had succumbed to Hellfire missiles, on that fateful day that would be called The Doom's Day. Mankind managed to barely hide underground in old nuclear shelters from the Union War from few decades ago. Unfortunately, those who could not get in, died brutally. Even if it had been done to protect humanity, it ended with the death of more than a third of the world's population. Making it the worst act of g******e in history. However, lives had already been lost because of the war against the Yimaga Empire. Lives that gave everything up there in the Orbital Network to defend their loved ones from those who sought to kill them. That courage resulted on its death, in a battle with an opponent who seems to be invincible and has no weaknesses whatsoever. Those who found the slightest weakness paid the price heavily. Almost with their lives. The truth of the matter, is that Atonium seems to have brought back from the past a new gold rush, where everyone will go to great lengths to gain a merely abundant supply. And no wonder. With the right application, the possibilities become almost limitless in terms of technology and medicine. Possible reason why Rasin would like to have it in her possession. Since, if possible, she would be able to create an artifact with the ability to modify a planet with the qualities she desires. Giving her almost magically "the hand of God" so to say.  That wouldn't be bad, if only research didn't prove that terraforming would annihilate the life and oxygen of the planet in the process. Leaving a shell of rock where Rasin would place his new empire, and begin a campaign of space conquest with his new acquisition. They would be... unstoppable. And humanity would no longer exist to slow them down in their conquest. In spite of everything, sometimes it is good to see the other side of the coin. There are still survivors in this once beautiful desert wasteland. Bastion withstood the explosions, and as soon as the radiation dissipates, teams will be sent to rescue as many civilians as they can.Hope still remains, and the resistance will soon dive into battle against the invaders from space. To bring back the old days. ____________________________________________ Earth on Sight: Red Alert. An original production by @AlphaBravoK7
