Invasion. The iron ring.
Special Tactical Operations Headquarters, Russia. January 17, 2095.
Adjutant: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot companies board VA transports immediately.
Checkpoint: confirming arrival of mechanized brigades from Korea and Philippines sir.
AI: brigades 57-E to 89-C, board VAs by Flat-17.
Pentecost: this is the largest military mobilization in history.
Gerald: yes, and it's not over yet.
Pentecost: can you confirm attendance of South American teams?
Adjutant: all available brigades on their way to the orbital network sir, full alert.
Pentecost: well, what about the Japanese? Their spatial-amphibious fleet would be more than excellent.
Adjutant: 120 Macro-Yamato units have lifted off in the last 4 hours sir. Escorted by Chinese Shato and American Albatross starfighter units.
Gerald: thanks.
Pentecost: do you think that's enough?
Gerald: we are sending 90% of our entire world forces, the rest are defending this specific building. It is obvious that it is not enough.
Pentecost: hmm. I hope we don't have to activate it.
Gerald: you're not talking about-.
Pentecost: that's why. Even Silas himself is not sure about the reliability of his project. Don't mention any of this to anyone, it's top secret.
Gerald: let's pray it's not necessary. I've heard frightening things about that project.
The Orbital Network, Earth, January 17, 2095.
(John Liberty)
Soldier: look, the commander.
Guard: and his YZ-20, the most powerful model of the sixth generation ever created.
Soldier: no one knows what he is capable of.
Orion: all sequences completed Commander Liberty, I am ready for action.
John: excellent.
I step onto a platform and it lifts me a few feet in the air, as I prepare to give a motivational speech.
Orion: it's time to shine.
John: let's not get sentimental.
Orion: sure.
John: alright, stand at attention.
Everyone lined up facing forward, anxiously awaiting my words.
John: I know this is not what you expected to witness, but it compromises the safety of your families. If you came all this far, it's because you want to protect them.
Pilot: hull opening in T-30 seconds.
John: this battle will make the difference between extinction and survival, I will not deny that many may not hug their families again. But this is no time for tears, the enemy must be contained here and now. Who is coming with me?
A shout of fervor from the troops echoed in the gallery, I knew they would never defraud me. They did not fear the death, nor the failure, they would give their lives to defend their planet.
Pilot: 10 seconds!
John: commence armor sealing ladies, we are deploying.
All: Yes sir!
Orion: respirator sealed, internal oxygenation system connected. We are ready sir.
Pilot: hull opening initiated.
John: it's showtime.
The hatches opened, revealing the darkness of the vast space. But there was no time to admire it.
In the distance loomed those eerie alien ships, merchants of the death itself and our extinction.
John: all right, spread out and take up firing positions. We must be ready for the c-.
*Explosion*.
It was too late to think, we had drones over our heads and bursts of laser fire all around us. It was our baptism of fire.
John: hold position, we must repel them!
*Gunshots*
John: take cover, they're firing at us from the flank!
The huge cruiser passed over us at high speed, delivering more destruction than we could have expected.
Gredel: I don't think we're going to make it sir!
Dicks: somebody get me a f*****g magazine!
Ricotta: f**k, my gun is jammed. Ah!
John: to the air, now!
Wade: you heard him, let's go!
*Gunshots*
John: protect the Yamato, they will give us fire support!
Wade: on my way!
*Explosion*.
Nicer: Golden Reaper.
John: what!?
Baymont: get down!
The huge blade split our VA in two and it exploded. Orion protected me with his built-in shields but the others didn't have that luck.
Special Tactical Operations Headquarters, Russia. January 17, 2095.
Adjutant: we lost the 47th sir.
*slams the desk*
Gerald: they're getting slaughtered.
Pentecost: nobody said it would be easy.
Gerald: pull them back to Earth Charlie, they don't know the space.
Pentecost: know that the day of judgment has come. And nothing will stop it.
Gerald: what do you mean?
Pentecost: better get drunk while you still can bud.
*Walks away*
Gerald: ah-?.... *sigh* that the... Yamato switch to... lateral orientation, fire at discretion.
Assistant: yes sir.
The Orbital Network, Earth, January 17, 2095.
Orion: are you all right?
John: Yes, thank you. Stabilize flight.
Orion: sure.
*Distant gunfire*
John: I didn't think it would end like this.
Orion: nor did I sir, the plan seemed perfect. But as a wise man once said-.
John: don't recite the Art of War to me Orion, I've had enough.
Orion: engines at full power.
John: Harvinjer saber!
A sword as bright as the sky was thrust into my hands as I approached the battlefield.
My boys were cornered by the ships and aliens that kept arriving on the scene.
Fritz: scheisse!
Vartz: this is bullshit!
Heavy: aaaaaaahhh!!!!!!
*Heavy gunshots*
John: connect it to all frequencies in the area.
Orion: immediately.
John: listen to me, this is useless. If we keep this up we're only going to cause more casualties. This...
Gerald: Liberty, I forbid you to leave. You cannot put the population at risk like that!
John: this already has a definite end, but we can change it.
Gerald: Liberty!
John: pilots, reverse engines and full ahead. Return to the Orbital Network immediately, the rest of you, cover the retreat!
Pilot: copy that.
Pilot: roger.
Marshal: no problem.
John: Liberty to base, once we're inside the network perimeter, make sure to activate the reflective field. It's the only way!
Special Tactical Operations Headquarters, Russia. January 17, 2095.
Adjutant: repeat that, over?
John: activate the reflective field, there is no alternative!
Adjutant: sir, Liberty wants to activate the reflective field.
Gerald: what the hell is going on today?
Pentecost: give me the channel.
Assistant: yes. *Types in*.
Gerald: Charlie?
Pentecost: how would that help? I trust you, but it's too risky.
John: we've already suffered too many casualties and lost entire brigades here. It's necessary if we want to at least buy us some time!
Adjutant: some Yamato are entering the perimeter of the Orbital Network.
Pentecost: what if you're wrong?
John: I will face the consequences, but until then, I don't know how you plan to win this battle sir!
*Shooting*
John: dammit, I gotta go.
To be continued...
