Chapter FifteenOstend, Belgium, Summer 1976 “Won't they feel disorientated when we take them outside for the first time?” asked the man. “It's possible,” replied the woman. “But I think the time is right to try it.” “One each?” was his next question. “One each,” her reply. A few minutes later, the man and the woman led the two boys by the hand from the playroom and through the usually locked office door. The boys made no sound, but their eyes took in every detail as they walked across the office towards a door that the two of them had never seen before. The man unlocked the outer door, opened it, and a shaft of sunlight filled the room through the opening.
