Chapter SixteenClinique Sobel, June 1976
Lucia's time at the clinic was at last coming to an end. All the procedures scheduled had been carried out, and she and the other women were waiting for confirmation from the doctors as to whether their treatments had been successful. As she waited in her room for her next meeting with Doctor Renaud, she couldn't help thinking about the future, of all the wonderful times ahead for her and Antonio, if only they could be blessed with a child. She made mental pictures of the three of them playing in the park together, of perhaps getting a puppy to grow up with and play with the child, of Christmases spent listening to the happy sounds of a child opening gifts.
