Chapter SixAn hour later, Lucia felt as though her brain was swimming. It had been almost impossible for her to assimilate all the information that Dr. DeVries had attempted to impart to her. Bad enough that they were conversing in English, not the first language for either of them, although he was obviously fluent, but the use of so many technical and medical terms was for the most part nothing more than mumbo jumbo to her. As DeVries left her room, she sat on the edge of her bed and tried to make the best sense she could of the things he'd told her. At least, she thought to herself, she appeared to be in good hands.
