Chased to a lovelorn

Being a cool guy, right in secondary school was not quite enough, especially with the fact that he got attention and attraction from girls, sometimes he reasoned he as cool with girls, funny enough, he wasn't really into women ? Being a SS3 student, he just hoped he could write his WASSC Examinations so he could be done with this whole high school caruzi not until everything almost turned out the opposite ?? Bode couldn't understand why a week wouldn't go without him being wooed by girls. At first, he thought it was strange for him to see ladies ask him out, at some point he felt special about it and curiosity took over his thoughts and emotions and some how, he fell into a ditch ?? He was passing through the streets to get something for his mom at the nearby bus-stop when he met Grace (Grace was a casual street friend of his) She had been having feelings for him (Bode) and was willing to force herself on him until he agrees to her strongly-felt emotions for him. "Hi Bode" she called " Hi Grace" he replied as he saw her "So, where are you up to on the streets "she asked " Uh! Nothing really, I just want to get something for my mom "Okay! That's cool, I just wanted to tell you something, it's been on my mind for quite a while and I can't seem to hide it from you anymore" she said as she faced the ground "What could that be" he asked curiously "Uhm............ Bode you see, it's been a while since I had these strings about you in the middle of my heart ?....... I think I like you..and seriously, a day doesn't run out without having you in my mind..... I can't seem to take a moment without having you right here in the middle of my heart ❤️ And I swear that: My love for you is pure and sensationally fragrant than the lily roses ?? that grows by the sea " ...............on hearing all she had just saidto his hearing, he couldn't even say anything.....it was a feeling of complete shock ??. He just left her presence without saying a word. As each second passed, he couldn't get it off his mind, he wondered if she wrote all that speech she made on a paper and probably If she had done a bit of rehearsals before she told him all of this. At the same time, he was impressed by her level of boldness to actually have the mind to say all that in his direct and natural presence ??. He didn't have any interest in her, cos he really wasn't the "Lady-type". He only got attraction from ladies due to the fact that he gives everyone of them their total respect and they loved him for it ?. ******************************* The following day was Friday, Bode loved Fridays because it was definitely the end of the week and there was this eagerness in him to the awaiting Fridays, infact, Fridays were his happiest days Nothing seemed to bother him, not even the encounter he had with Grace. Thinking about what she had done the day before, he wasn't caring about she professed , he was just glad he walked out on her. In the process of thinking, he subconsciously wrote a smile on his face which gained the attraction of his Padis (Jide and Kay) who sighted him from the end of the class as he smiled without anyone cracking joke. Due to their curiosity, they quickly walked up to him. "Guy wetin do you" Kay asked tapping Bode by the shoulder from behind "Bro!!, nothing much jare" Bode replied "We know there's nothing much but which one be the one wey you dey smile without jokes, I kon dey see your teeth as you dey smile. Abi Dem blow breeze on top your brain ni" Jide asked "Dem no blow breeze for my brain ? oo. I was just reminiscing about something. No wori, I go gist una wen school don close" Bode said with a tone of assurance "Oya na, no p. Sha no run mad before closing time" Kay said in sarcasm. ..... They all laughed and separated....... ********************* The three Jolly friends began their journey home discussing what Bode had just narrated to them.For some reasons Jide thought to himself that it might probably not end there for Bode, cos he knew how desperate the Female gender could be for Love ? and also❤️ about the fact that Grace could probably have a plan into entering Bode's heart ?. For him, he opined that: "Girls were born to live in desperation for love and they would do anything to get it" For Kay (who had loads of girlfriends). He had an opinion that: "Girls were scum and they'll always be ignorant to the real things of love and for that reason they were meant to be used and dumped" And that's why was able to manage seven different girlfriends per week. After talking about the whole situation, Jide simply told Bode "Bro! See, just do what your conscience tells you" That was Bode's best received advice and he was surely going to what his mind tells him. He really didn't have any interest in Grace, though he liked her because she was kinda intelligent and a pretty nice person with an endowing beautiful facial look. To him, gone were the days when he had deep feelings and emotions for girls, but, for now he was ready to do away anything relating to women. So on that note, he was definitely giving Grace a complete "NO". "She's probably going to have to go through a lovelorn" He thought to himself. *************************** Getting home, he stormed to his room and landed on the bed with loads of thoughts in his mind. He spent minutes thinking, reasoning and racking hard on how he was going to tell her that "he didn't have any love-related feelings towards her just as she felt towards him". After so much thinking and serious brain-racking and bringing out empty results, he was null of ideas and concluded that he was going to say anything he had in mind, either heartbreaking or not. Waiting patiently for her to return from school and as usual, she will always come by his house to play and do her assignments and to rapor minds with each other on topics they were taught in school. Funny enough, she didn't get to show up, he waited and waited like forever but she still didn't show up.He began to grow worried, then he reasoned: "What if she didn't come because she's frightened and timid about the fact that she can't be able to look straight at me in the because she asked me out" For Grace, she was just in the comfort of her room doing her assignments alone. It was obvious she wasn't concentrating on what she was doing. She was thinking ? about Bode as she looked forward to getting a Positive response from him. She stared at her book and reasoned imagined Bode being the writings and pictures on the book. She smiled unreasonably and sometimes burst into chuckles of laughter even when nothing around seemed funny. To her, Bode was going to be her One and only and she was ready to do anything to get his love..... Crazy......! ************************ 12:45 PM the following day which was Saturday, a knock was heard on the door of the house of the Adefabi's. It was Grace and she had come to get her expected response from Bode. Mrs. Adefabi (Bode's Mom) opened the door, on seeing Grace, she gave her a warm welcome, exchanging pleasantries as Grace walked into the house ??. "My dear, what would you like me to serve you" Mrs Adefabi asked "Uhh! Nothing Ma, besides, I just had lunch" she said beaming a smile "You're sure you don't want anything at all" Mrs Adefabi asked again "No, don't worry ma, I'm fine " she replied "Okay! If you say so " Mrs Adefabi said "Uhm! Mom! Where's Bode?" She asked "That one..., He is in the garden opposite the corridor. He said he'd like to be alone" Mrs Adefabi replied "Ohh! I see I'll go join him" she said standing up "Alright" Mrs Adefabi replied as she entered the kitchen Getting to the garden, she saw Bode stroking the rose flowers, she began to feel her love for him again and again. She opened the noiseless garden door ? and walked in. Bode on the other hand wasn't aware that she was around him until he heard the sounds of dry leaves rustling as someone was trampling on them and he looked back in curiosity to see who it was. Looking back, his heart failed him a second as he saw Grace ? They both stared silently at each other for minutes pondering on different thoughts in their different minds . For Grace, her thoughts were based on her being the next person to the heart of Bode, the one she loved with everything she had in existence to the extent of her body ?. It was obvious that she was crazy about him Bode on the other hand was just trying to figure out the perfect way to tell her that she's on a real Dose of a lovelorn and how he's really not ready to have anything to do with Dating and Commitments with anybody. ..........then Grace broke the silence......... "Bode, I did all that drama i pulled out to tell you what i really have in mind for you. All my life, I really had nothing to do with anybody, but since the day I met you, my heart changed its motive and things have changed entirely. The love I feel for you is extraordinarily unexplainable. I've never felt this way towards anybody and I really can't stop having you right in the middle of my heart ?❤️ a putting you in my mind. This is to show you how deep my love is for you and I'm not changing that fact. That's why I want you to be the next person to my heart and the love of my Life " For Bode, all he did was digest all she had said to him. At this point, he wasn't surprised anymore. This time around, he saw her toxic desperation and how her heart hungered for love. "Grace......, You see, I've always loved you in the agape manner. I like the fact that you're clever and intelligent in your doings, and right now, I'm beginning to have a headache because I'm in a war of decisions, I think I've made up my mind but I'd like you to give me a little more time to think about this and then, I'll tell you what my final words on this would be" He said "It's not about time, there's really nothing here for you to think over, all you just need is to flow into it. Your instincts do not shout inwardly without reacting outwardly, it's like a sacrament Bode you're the only person. I've loved this way and I'm not changing what I feel for you. I'm begging you, pls be the next person to my heart. Bode please BE MY BOYFRIEND" she said almost dropping tears ?? "Okay!!, I've heard all you've said and I've digested every single bit of them, but you need to understand the fact that we're still both in high school and I really wouldn't have time for Commitments and romance, especially when I have exams to write and you do also have this same exam to write and I'm sure you're aware that this is the only exam that determines the next phase of our lives and so for now, Being your boyfriend would have to be a NO!!" He said bluntly That was heartbreaking ? and she felt her heart crash with what she had heard him say. With all the epistles of love she had preached to him, she ended up heartbroken. One way or the other, she got to see some wisdom in what he had told her about the exams and him not having the time and space for Commitments. In this case, her deep and blind love began to overshadow her wisdom and at this point, she concluded within herself that she was going to have Bode to herself and that there was absolutely nothing that would stop her, not even her exams Crazy....... ******************** Every single day seemed totally different for him as he couldn't stop reminiscing about his encounter with Grace some days ago. Mondays in school were his busiest days and he really didn't have enough time to even step out of his class, cos it was from one subject to another and free period was once on Mondays, which he tagged as his time of rest with other departmental classmates of his, to chat and make fun ? just to ease the tension of school work. Placing his head on the locker to get a quick nap ? wasn't working as he suddenly began to feel uneasy, felt like he was about to experience something, but somehow, he couldn't placey his hands on it. Noticing that the Vice Principal was walking towards the direction of the class ?, he quickly alerted everyone especially those who were sleeping already, FOR IT WAS BETTER TO BE CAUGHT GISTING THAN TO BE CAUGHT SLEEPING. Everyone began to find a book to concentrate on and silence noised the atmosphere. The VP passed by, simultaneously inspecting their class with an half eye ? seeing their seriousness he beamed a smile on his face "Well done!!" He said "Thank you Sir ☺️?" they chorused He passed by their class, walked down the staircase and headed for his office. Getting to the office, the receptionist called his attention, telling him there was a woman ? who wanted to enroll a child ? "Excuse me Sir" The receptionist called "Yes pls?" He replied With a direct look "Erm!!, There's a woman here who wants to enroll her child Sir" She said walking to his direction "Oh!! That's good to to hear....where is she pls" he asked "She's in the waiting room Sir" she said "Okay, pls direct her to my office" he said "Alright, no problem sir" She said Getting to his office and the enrollee coming after, he enrolled the child and explained all the necessary things the child would need for a proper school tutoring and the child was to resume the following day ********************* Getting home, Bode felt a little headache, it was a usual thing for him as he always had headaches on Mondays, so he went into his usual self medication of Paracetamol,on taking it, he felt a little better and landed on his bed due to tiredness. Shortly, his mind flipped to Grace and about all that had happened between the both of them, he smiled and shrugged the idea off ? his mind. He quickly freshened up, had his lunch and went into doing his assignments. *************************** The following day was Tuesday and he was to be in school by 7am, due to the morning class planned out by the math teacher. Waking up and picking his stopwatch, he viewed the time, it was three minutes past 5am "Thank God" he said He said his morning prayers and went straight into the bathroom. Trust one thing, he enjoyed his daily routines because he was the only son and the only child ?, so he had no sibling to disturb him either junior or senior, he had every right to call himself as the MAN OF THE HOUSE. The thought about him having a to expect a surprise crossed his mind again "Ki le le bayii" he soliloquize with a cranky look on his face He just couldn't understand why he had been feeling uneasy, till he got to school, he was just on his thinking mode even his mode noticed and she conversed with him, noticing his mood change "What's wrong Son??" Bode's mom asked in concern "Uh! Nothing mom" he replied slowly "You're sure? Cos I've been watching you for a while and you seem to be lost in the moon ? for long, you're sure you're alright" She asked again "Nothing Mom, I'm fine, guess I'm just a bit tired" He replied "Hmmn!!, I can tell, you look pale" she said with a low tone "Don't worry Mom, I'll be fine" he said with assurance "Okay!!, If you say so , just take care ? of yourself" She said leaving his presence "I will mom" he said Getting home school, he met Jide and Kay. They exchanged pleasantries and sat down to have a conversation "BD, I just dey gist Kay sey we get new classmate, u don hear the news before" Jide asked "I no even hear anything hear anything at all. How you take know sef" Bode asked curiously "Ahn ahn!!!!, Shey you dey wyn me ni, I was eaves- dropping from Sehkeh's Office when she was telling VP sey one woman wan enroll her child for SS3" Jide said "Na so, oshey baddest ?, na guy or girl ✌️" Bode asked "I no kon know that one oo" Jide exclaimed "Ehn, no p na, when the pesin Come, we go know the gender na" Bode said conclusively They went ahead to argue about sports until the teacher organizing the maths class came in with troops of students behind him as if they were entering the class for a war. During the first period, the VP came in with a student beside him, he introduced her as their new classmate, Bode was not paying full attention as he concentrated on writing what was on the board concluding he was going to see who it was after writing not until he heard the VP say "Her name is Grace Okanlawon" On hearing that, he quickly swayed his eyes and gazed his attention on who the subject matter was as he almost fainted on seeing the Grace he was having love related issues with. "God what did I do to deserve all these" he soliloquized He couldn't comprehend how he was going to cope with the greatest disturbance of his life, especially when it had to do with having to attend the same school and in the same department ? with him. Grace on the other hand was busy scanning the whole class in search of Bode, she wasn't even paying attention to what the VP was saying. On seeing him, she noticed he was the only one not sharing a seat with anybody, meaning that he had no seatmate. "Grace, pls go and take a seat with Bode, the boy at the end of the class from behind. He's the only one not sharing a seat with anyone Bode, pls make space for her you finally have a seat partner" The VP said directing her with his hand to Bode's seat ?? Bode couldn't do anything he just stared and watched as she took every step until she finally say by his side "Hi Bode!!" she said as she beamed a huge smile on her face ************Gbam!!*********** "Grace, what are you doing here???" Bode asked in awe "Ahn ahn!! What sort of question is that? At?" She asked "Yes!! I'm asking,what are you doing here registered as a SS3 student as in SS3" he asked in curiosity "It was easy, my dad just paid double the amount of what is being paid here" she replied smiling "So, why did you have to leave your school...and you came all the way to mine without even minding the distance" he asked again "Nothing much, I just want to always have you by my side" she said "Wait! Grace, jeez!!, I mean what the f*ck, so you're here all because of me!, wait are you sure you're well headed with your senses sha!!" He said angrily "What's all these na?, Is there a crime in me having to always want or should I say need to be beside you" She asked with a low tone "Before I reply you, I am still wondering the kind of excuse you cooked up for your parents for them to pay double the amount just because you sickly want to be here" Bode said "Ohh, that was quite easy, I simply just explained the demerits of my ex-school in advantage to this very school ?. They fell for it and they adhered to my demands, they're my parents so they'll do anything to make me happy" She said boastfully "God of mercy!!! So because of this thing you call love, you had to change school, and it makes you comfortable, Eii!!! Olorun oba oo" Bode said in a sober tone Things really wasn't the best for him that day, especially when the pain in his neck was right beside him and she was really giving him serious headache "Out of all the girls wey don toast me, na only this Grace dey give me wahala. I don't even understand her again!! shey na by force to love ni? To love no be by force, but I no kon understand this kind love. But omoh!! This girl funny oo!! How pesin wey dey hin right senses go change school because of guy?? Cos I no kon understand this one bayii" He soliloquized Kay had been standing directly at Bode who sat unnoticed. It was long break, and Grace had gone to take a tour round the school "BODE!!" Kay called no reply "BODE!!!!! He called again "BODE!!!!!!" He shouted tapping his shoulder "Hey bro!!, Wetin sup na" Bode replied coming out of his illusions "No be you I dey call since, you dey cloud 9 dey think wetin I no know" Kay said almost angry "No vex, I no hear na" Bode said pleadingly "I don hear,.... So na wetin make you cloud like this and you look pale sef" Kay said "Baba long story oo" Bode said with a rough look "I'm listening abeg!!" Kay said as he sat down. He explained everything to Kay in full details without leaving any stone unturned. Kay on the other hand was surprised to know that the girl in question was the one who Bode talked about being Chased to a lovelorn "So wetin you wan do like this" Kay asked "Baba, I really don't know oo!!! this one wey be sey she be my seatmate" Bode replied in a confused state "As I dey gan, I no even know wetin I wan talk wey I go fit call am solution" Kay said "Emi gan I no get myself" Bode said "Omo na wahala be dis oo, shey na by force to love ni" Kay said "U sef you see sey e no get anything wey Musa no go see for gate" Bode said Grace was heading towards their direction, on sighting her, Bode quickly alerted Kay to return to his seat so as to avoid any trouble. He quickly left and went in search for Jide. "Hi ? my love " she said taking her seat "Since when did I become your love" he asked in annoyance "Really!! Bode, I don't have the right to call you my love" She said "Last time I checked, I don't recall being your boyfriend" He said "Bode,(moving close to him) do you always have to do this to me ehn, how many times do I have to prove my love to you, what have I not done to show U my love for you" she said in a soft tone "GRACE!!, you might be doing all these to prove this thing you call love. Sorry for you, Cos the last time I checked my love list, you were the last on it. So, I think it's high time you stop this unjustifiable madness you're acting. You've finally been CHASED TO A LOVELORN. Understand that love flows like a divine spring and is not being forced on people" he said with all manner of audacity. To him, he didn't really care on whatever she had in mind. He was good on the fact that he gave her a word of thought ?, at least give her a change of mind about how crazy she was about him. Guess all of that was all not going to happen as he had just drawn a battle line. She wasn't moved by anything he said,she was earth ridden and conclusive that it was Bode or no one else and so all the things he was saying did and meant absolutely nothing to her as it went into her right ear, coming out of her left her and right into thin air "Hope you're done???" She said "Eh ??!!"he exclaimed "Cos I really don't see the essence of this dramatic display you're casting here" She said boldly This time, he knew he had finally entered into a big deal with her. "Bode see, you'll just have to accept my proposal oo, cos I'll do anything to have you as mine even if I have to get pregnant for you. So you just have to know that it's you and you alone" she said looking Straight into his eye ?? "Grace!!!!, Are you insane Can you just hear yourself at . all????. You want to get Pregnant for who?? You must be out of your mind" He said He stood up and left in anger and she stood up and followed him ??. She followed him everywhere he went and he couldn't just do to change the situation. He regretted being a guy who was attractive and at this point, he wished he could loose all is masculine powers just to eradicate the Thorn in his flesh.......Grace. Things were the opposite for him as she loved him more as each second passed and he had no choice but to keep her on a complete lovelorn. It was closing time already and he (Bode) was glad that he finally had an escape route to flee from Grace for the day. Within him, he had decided he was not going to stay in his garden when he gets home just to avoid her Grace on the other hand, had plans of of staying at Bode's place or probably do a sleepover if she had the chance to. To her, Bode was already her future husband. It was obvious she was love drunk and she felt no conscientious warnings as she was Blinded by obsession. "Going home ??........."she asked "Yh!!,. I am. Why asking?? any problem???" He asked" "Not really, I just wanted you to hang on for me. I'll like to pack my bag and walk with you till we get home" she said "That's great ?, but you do realize that I don't trek" He replied "That's not a problem, we'll just board the same bike going home" She replied "Are you kidding me........... ........" He asked in surprise "Last time I checked, it didn't look like I was joking cos I really don't see the big deal in me following you home, at least we live in the same vicinity" she said looking straight into his eyes ? "But at least not on the same bike" He said "You make me laugh with your reply.Abeg let's go home jare" she said as she grabbed her bag At this point, he knew he couldn't evade her and he had no choice but to give in, Getting home: "I'll be coming to your house today. If probably for a sleep Over. Cos my parents are not around and they'll be returning tomorrow and I really don't like staying alone" She said "You want to what?????" asked again "I'd be coming over to your place and I'll probably do a sleepover Like I said, my parents are not around and I really don't like staying alone" She said with more confidence "You know you really have a way of just trying to make me inconvenient and angry too" He said with a straight face "What have I done, is sleeping over now a crime. I have done nothing wrong na, at least your mom is around so what are you scared of???" Hearing her talk about his mom being around, he felt a bit of relief as he knew with her around, he could never get disturbed for any reason and he was certain about it. They finally separated ways and went into their various edifice. Bode entered his house and found the key ? at the window beside the entrance, that showed she wasn't around. Opening the door and getting in, he found a note on the dining table and it read: "Son, I won't be around for the whole night, but, I'll be return- ing tomorrow. I was called this evening that your Uncle died this evening so I had to travel to delta. There's food in the refrigerator and I kept your allowance under your pillow. Take care of yourself Love from Mom "Ohhhhhh!!!!, F*ck!!!!, F**k!!!!!!!! What the f**k is this na, why did he have to die now na. Now that this girl is sleeping over, ah!!!!!! oh!!!!!!. This is not good at all! He said lamenting For the fact that his Uncle died wasn't the issue, it was about him dieing at the wrong time, especially when Grace was coming over to his place for a sleepover and his Mom would not be around. It was obviously a serious issue to have Grace around without his mom being around and she was probably up to something fishy. She was love drunk and she was probably going to cook up something to screw Bode up at least to make him fall for her
