Chapter 3

Nadia walked going through her office. Some are gives their greeting for her as homecoming. Her friends are made their surprised for her. She shed her tears and get emotional as what her friends doing. They’ve just miss her for too long and the same to her. Since she get lost for a long time and others thought that she already died. They have their lunch together in the office. And after, she went to her office to relax herself.

Someone knocking on the door. She just speak a word to let it come in. Carrie with a serious and weak face who’s coming. Nadia surprised for her coming because she never expect it. She glance around and give her gesture to let Carrie sit on the chair.

“Why are you here?” she asked without looking to her. She pretend looking at the documents that was on the table.

“I’m her for you. I just want to talk to you. Sorry for my mistakes, Nadia. You know already me, I regretted so much. You know how much I love Kurt and I know as well how much you love him. That is why we goes like this. Sorry for thinking that you died already and were free to do everything. But actually, I doubted to do it. I was just force to get marry him. And we have a baby soon.” She smile ungracefully.

“I’m pregnant as well Carrie. We’re both responsibility of her. I know, you was the first woman of Kurt but I’m sure that time you are not pregnant. You just get pregnant after me. So it means I am his responsibility after you.” she swung on her swivel chair. And shake her ball pen with her index finger. “Yes, he’s your husband right now and I respected it. I know you are his primary responsibility than me. But let me decide it. I forgive you already. But please, minimize to reveal yourself to me because I don’t want to see it anymore.” She added and get irritated.

“I can’t do what you want. I can refuse and get divorce to him, just for the sake of you Nadia. I’m willing to let him go even its hurt.”

“Are you that willing? Then, why? Is there some reason that we don’t know that is why you are willing to let him go? Actually, it is hard to decide like that on time. Remember Carrie, soon you will be now a mother.”

“And also you. I just don’t want that it will happen on your baby. Which grow without knowing its father.”

“You are too late, Carrie. At the first place, it was your mistake. You never initiated to leave him alone because you know I love him so much.”

“But, I was worried to him. Because he always feel sorrow after losing you. He doesn’t eat foods, go to work and to be healthy because he always think of you. He almost died because of that and I don’t want it will happen to him. I thought you died already that is why I let myself marry to him.”

“Is that enough? I think that is invalid Carrie. I don’t want to make some trouble. But please leave now.”

Carrie stood up worriedly because she doesn’t settle the problem yet. But she have to because Nadia is getting mad this time. And she have to avoid it, because maybe it can harm them both especially they bear a child this time. But they stop when Luke reveal himself. With a big smile and turn to shocked.

“Did I disturb you?” Luke tamely asked. And stared at Carrie.

“No you can get in. Actually, she’s leaving right now. We’re done talking.” She give her fake smile.

Luke get in and seated at the chair in front of Nadia’s table. When Carrie tried to get lost, Luke call her that made her stop. “I’ve heard you got pregnant. And it is not sure on who is the father of that baby.” Luke conversation made the surrounding keep in silence. Both Carrie and Nadia get shocked of what he is saying.

“What?” Nadia said. “Are you insane Luke? It’s obviously that Kurt is the father of that baby and how can you say that?”

“I just heard it. Maybe Carrie will explain it to us this time. If she will.”

“Carrie. What is this mean? Is Kurt know this?”

“Sorry. I have to go. I don’t have time to talk to that.” Carrie continue leaving.

“Nadia, you made it serious. Don’t problem her anymore. We’re involve with that. And you are not concern anymore to Kurt because you decide already and you have nothing to do with that.”

“Sorry, I’m just curious.” She lean herself on the swivel chair and bite the ball pen she hold. “Why are you here?”

“I’m just going to inform you that I’m working here almost two months.” He smiled.

“That it? I’m glad to know that because I have with me my friend. Thank you for pursuing it.” She smiled back.

“Actually, I have a good news for you. Kylie, escaped from the jail almost three weeks.”

“What?” she get shocked and get intrigue. “How?”

“I don’t know how. But still the police are searching for her. I’ve already informed to those who is in danger. Because I’ve meet her before she get lost. She said, she will have her revenge to those who put her in jail and who doesn’t help her.”

“What? Is she insane? I never expect that she will do it. It means, we are both in danger.”

“Yes. And we have to secure ourselves because we don’t know when she will take revenge. Let’s just be aware.”

“Thank you.” she stood. “Excuse me, I have to check my patient. She was in convulsion last night due to unexpected symptoms.”

He stood up first before he talk, “What symptoms?”

“I don’t know. The doctor told me to take some rest first since I came from an operation last month. Yes, I was cured but they have to examine me first after putting the medicine they have invented for me if it is effected or not. Maybe for two months and up.”

“If that is good for your health, you have to. AIV is a serious disease that might bring you to death. Fortunately both of you and Kurt’s father because you survive.”

“AIV can lead to HIV. That’s why they have to examine me if I was infected by HIV but for now they did not found any symptoms that might cause to HIV. This hospital is under-investigation, to know where the disease came from before Kurt’s father get infected. I was worried for Kurt’s father situation. Is he okay.” She slowly open the door to leave. “I’m leaving, I need to see Kurt’s father. I have to talk to him, maybe he can help the investigation.”

“I’m coming for you.”

“No need. You have to stay here. Or you can do my favor. Please take care of my patient. Just this time, then tonight I will treat you dinner.” She smiled and leave.

Kurt is on his way to his father’s house. Suddenly, his phone ringing. Carrie is on other line. He answered Carrie’s call by putting the earphone while driving. “Yes? I’m on my way to father’s house. Why did you call?”

“Kurt, I just want to tell that I’m leaving right now.”

Kurt stop on driving as he heard Carrie. “What? Why? No, Carrie. I’m begging you. You don’t have to leave without telling some reason.”

“Kurt, I just want a space where I can express my problem and so I can think peacefully.”

“No, you can express it with me. I’m your husband, maybe I can help you. Carrie, don’t leave. I worry about you and our child.”

“Don’t worry, I can take care myself as well as our baby.”

“No, you have to wait for me in the house. We have talk about it after I visit father. Please, stay there and relax. Okay.”

“Okay.”

Kurt drive fast to reach his father’s house on time because he need to go back to talk with Carrie. He park the car on the parking lot. He open the gate as he get inside. The door is wide opened, so he worried. As he walk inside, he meet Nadia sitting beside his father on the wheel chair while talking. And his mom, smiling at him while carrying a tray of juice and bread. They stared to him with a smile, as Nadia. He smile as well and come closer.

“Hey, mom.” He hug his mother and sitting on the vacant chair beside his father.

“Why are you here?” Kurt asked Nadia, tamely smile.

“I’m here to meet with your father and know his condition after the operation.” She smiled.

“I think father is find right now, under your presence and concern. By the way, thank you for helping my father to recover his condition. Though, we are ashamed because of my father you get affected on his disease. But we are bless and grateful to know that you survive and now okay.”

“Not a big deal. I just want to help people who are in need. I accepted it, actually it was not an intentional, right? So no need to worry.”

“Son, look Nadia she’s still beautiful. Why you don’t want to marry her?” his father inserted that made them surprised. But his mother just laughing behind them.

“Haha , your son is already married with Carrie and soon to be they have their a baby. But, it’s unfortunate because it was not you Nadia. But don’t worry, you are still accepted in our family.” his mother smile.

“Mom, please don’t talk about it.”

“No, it’s okay.” She gently smile.

“Sorry, Nadia. I can’t control my mouth. I have to go to in the kitchen. I need to cook foods for us.” Tamely going to the kitchen and bringing her husband by pushing the wheel chair.

Being silence separated them, because of being ashamed to each other. Spell, awkward? AWKWARD. Yeah it’s really awkward especially Kurt is already married. Actually, they still have their individual feelings but they have nothing to do but to control it. It’s unfortunate because Kurt and Nadia has nothing to do about it. But, I think it’s okay to be the father of Nadia’s baby rather than to her husband.

Kurt smiled at Nadia without expecting it. “Are you ashamed of me?” Kurt said ruthless.

“What? No I’m not, or maybe you. I found on your face that there is something that you want to tell it with me. Is there any? Don’t be shy, I’m open and ready to listen.” She smile.

“How did you know?”

“I know you, Kurt. Remember for the time that we have together.” She smile again, not to show that she is ashamed and getting nervous.

Kurt push the chair to get closer with Nadia. Now they are closer, he slowly hold Nadia’s hand that made her shocked. “I miss holding and rubbing your hands.” He said while staring to it. “But now, I can rub and hold it anymore since I already have my wife. Nadia, sorry for everything I have done to you. I really regretted it. Though I’ve always asked sorry but I can’t settle down though you already forgive me. It’s a rare feelings that I’ve hurt a woman whom I love so much and adore.”

“Kurt, I don’t you to act like that. Please, act formally. Please don’t mind it okay.”

“Though, we can bring it back but I really hope that we can be together.”

“That’s impossible.”

“How about the baby? I don’t want the baby grow without the father on the side on its mother.”

“Don’t worry Kurt, I’m not selfish to avoid the baby to you. You have Carrie and you have your baby. You are happy enough.”

“No, I’m not happy that thing. Actually, I can’t understand Carrie’s situating right now.”

“Actually…..Carrie approach me last time. She talked to me and asked for forgiveness. I forgive her already. She is willing to surrender you from me but I won’t let it happen since she’s bearing a child with you.”

“If she will going to surrender me with you, are you willing to accept me?”

Nadia is getting intrigue. Are they serious? Oh my gosh, something happen between each side. Gosh, it’s hot in here. “I don’t know.” She directly speak.

“Why you don’t know? Nadia, you know how much I love you. You didn’t even know how much I regretted it. But you don’t know if you will going to accept me or not? Nadia please mind my situation, I can’t get over this without you.”

“Did I’ve told you to marry her?”

Kurt get shocked. “I don’t have any choice. I thought you were not coming back.”

“Did I told you, that I will not coming back. I thought you pray for me and wait for me. I expected it, which is I want to go home from Australia to meet you because I really miss you so much. I don’t want to recall it.” She shed her tears as she stood up. Kurt hold her hand to stop her from leaving.

“I leave you that time but this time I will never leave you.” he pulled Nadia down his chest and hug her tightly.

“Kurt?” she breathless speak.

“Just let me, Nadia.” He gently said.

“Look.” Looking at Kurt’s parents at the kitchen that is smiling and giggling at them. “They’re looking at us. You never feel ashamed?” she pushed Kurt out from her.

Kurt smile, “Nadia, would you mind to do it always when we meet. I just want to hug you for the missing days and times that I didn’t hug you.”

“Are you insane? No, I refuse on that. Look, I don’t want to hurt Carrie. I don’t want to hurt her back as what she did to me. Perhaps I don’t want her to think that I’m taking my revenge or I flirt you. No, I’m not like that.”

Nadia’s phone ringing that disturb them. She get it from her sling bag, “Excuse me for a while.” She went not to far from Kurt to answer the call.

“Hello?” she seriously asked.

“Where are you? You have to back here in the hospital, its emergency.”

“What? O...Okay, I’m on my way.” She hang up the call. And face Kurt. “I have to go, there is an emergency in the hospital. They need me there. Sorry, I have to go.”

“Oh, Nadia where are you going?” Kurt’s mother yelling from the kitchen that make her stop.

“Ah, sorry Auntie I have to leave. They need me in the hospital.”

“But, how about this food? We’re about to eat.”

“Sorry, Auntie but I don’t enough time. Maybe we can eat together next time. Pardon.”

“Okay, I will just ask Kurt to bring your foods in the hospital.”

Nadia take glanced at Kurt then smile, and then she leave.

Kurt went home first before he will going to go in the hospital to give the foods for Nadia. He need to talk to Carrie about her problem. He is not aware of what she feel right now. She’s getting insane. Carrie meet him in the living room. Carrie wear her pink-duster and carry with a glass of water.

“Are you okay?” Kurt give her a kiss.

“I’m not feeling well.” Stared at the paper bag that Kurt holding. “What is that?”

Kurt just stared to it, he can’t answered.

“I know it’s for Nadia, its okay not a big deal. I know you love her and I understand. I think Nadia is hungry, you need to bring it with her. She’s waiting for you.” she said and tend to leave.

Kurt hold her not to leave. “Sorry, Carrie. I didn’t mean it. Mom, asked me to give it this to Nadia.”

“No, it’s okay. Actually, that is the reason that’s why I’m going to leave and find some space. You know what, I don’t know what to do. Because of thinking about it, I tend to kill myself. But I don’t want because I don’t want to harm the baby. Kurt, just tell me if you love Nadia. And I am that willing to give you up to her.”

“Carrie, are you insane?”

“No, I’m not! I’m serious, Kurt. If there is something you want to confess about your feelings to Nadia, tell it to me now. I’m ready to listen and forgive you. I know you just force to marry me, because you want to forget her and to heal your sorrow because you think she died already. But now, she’s alive. Still your feelings to her remain.”

“Carrie, listen up. I married you because I love you. That’s why we made a baby because we love each other. Look, there’s nothing to confess my feelings to her because I love you.”

“Kurt, still my decision is to leave for a meantime. I want some space to think before I’m going to get crazy. Please respect my decision. Nadia is waiting for you. You have to bring it to her, she is now hungry.” She walked to her room.

Kurt has nothing to do about it. Its Carrie’s decision and he need to respect it as his wife. He have nothing to do but to meet Nadia and give the foods he bring. He drive his car unserious, he always think of Carrie. He doubted to meet Nadia or not. Because he’s worried on his wife. As he enter the hospital, he meet Nadia on her office. He found out Nadia and Luke talking. As he opened the door, Luke’s eyes stared to him badly.

“What are you doing here?” Luke asked, and stood up to meet Kurt.

“I’m going to give it to Nadia.” Held the paper bag he bring. “Mom, asked me to give to you.” held the paper bag to Nadia.

“Thank you!” she receive it with a smile. “Hmmm…I think it’s delicious.” She said as she open it.

“Really? Did your mom asked you to give it to Nadia or you plan to flirt her even you already your wife? Is that true?” Luke getting jealous.

“Luke, stop it.” Nadia said and try to get off Luke from Kurt since he is on his position to punched Kurt.

“Hey, am I like that?” Kurt asked and punched Luke on his face. Luke was thrown on the couch and made his face bleeding.

“Stop it.” Nadia pushed Kurt away from Luke. But Luke run after Kurt and he punched it back. Until they fight, they didn’t mind their face that is bleeding and all the things that is getting messy. “Stop it.” Nadia shouted and made them stop. “Hey, if two of you want to fight. Not in here. Look, my office is getting messy because of you. I don’t want to think that you fight because of me, because of jealous. If you don’t want me to kick you out, please leave now.” She added.

Kurt and Luke are forcedly leave without saying sorry or apologize of what they have done. Actually, they are not drunk, they are just problematic. Nadia slam herself on the couch. Folding her head because of what happen. She’s getting crazy right now. She do not know what to do, to them. Gosh, she’s beautiful because two hunks and handsome guy are fighting because of her. Gosh, infairness Nadia your fairy.

She look the foods that Kurt give from his parents scattered on the floor. The spaghetti that his mom made is getting messy on her desk. She stared to it achingly, because Kurt’s mom effort are useless and was not cherish. She regretted of what happened, even though she didn’t mean it but it never happened if not because of her. She hate herself so much.

Kurt lay on his swivel chair, waited for Carrie. It’s already seven o’clock in the evening still Carrie is not coming. He repeatedly check his wristwatch to check the time. He started too worried of her, since he don’t know where Carrie is going. Still bruise painted on his face, from what happened to them earlier. It was his fault also because he never control his temper and anger. He stood as car passed by in their house, to see if it is Carrie but it was not. He is in the balcony while waiting. He stood up as car stopped in front on the gate. He stared to it seriously, then he seen Nadia’s coming.

The gate is opened so Nadia not doubted to get in. She have her glanced around the house before she get in the living room. Nadia didn’t notice him on the balcony. When Nadia lose in his sight, he follow Nadia in the living room.

“Hey.” Kurt said lean himself on the wall, staring at Nadia who is walking searching for him.

“Ah, here you there. I just want to talk to you as what happened earlier. I’m here to ask for forgiveness in behalf of Luke. And as well of myself since it was my fault also.” She seriously said and stared at Kurt tamely since she feel ashamed.

“Have your sit.” He went to the kitchen to get some snacks. And after he put it on the table in front of Nadia, juice and lime bread.

Nadia stared to the bruise on his face, and she get worry. “Do you have any first aid here? Look, we have to cure your bruise.”

“No it’s okay. I can get it.” He smile and seated in front of Nadia.

“No, I have to cure it. Please, consider this as forgiveness.” She stood up and come near with Kurt. Nadia tried to touch his bruise but Kurt stop her by holding her hands.

“No, I’m okay. You don’t have to worry about.”

“Kurt, listen. We have to cure it before it will get infected.” As she pull her hands, she is out of her balance then she fall on Kurt chest and they kiss each other accidentally. Shocked being separated between them. They hugged each other as they laying in the couch. Look, what a terrifying event. Accidentally and unintentionally.

Nadia stood up tamely and fix herself. She get ashamed and was not able to look Kurt seriously. She heard Kurt laughing then she get intrigue. “Why are you laughing?”

“You looked funny on your reaction. Don’t mind it, it was just accident.” Kurt stand and came near to Nadia.

“Kurt, I don’t want people think of me as flirt. Look, you already have your wife and people know that. Remember, as what happened let’s forget it. Mind it that I am here to ask for forgiveness as what happened with you and Luke not to flirt you. It’s fortunate because Carrie is not around and she was not able to see what happened. I don’t her to curse me.”

“Carrie is not around. She’s leaving and I don’t know where she was going. I’m worried about her.”

“What happened?”

“I don’t know, she just asked for space to think.”

“No way, we have to find her.” She get her sling bag and they leave. Together they find Carrie. Kurt take drive using his car.

“Where is the possible place where Carrie will stay?” she asked as she look outside.

“I don’t know. Only she can contact her friends Mia but I don’t know where Mia live.” He said while keep on driving.

“Gosh, or maybe we can ask some help to the police.”

“Okay, where going!” Kurt drive through the police station.

As they reach the police station, Kurt talked one of the police officer assign on the table. “What can I do for you, sir?” a police asked.

“Actually...”he stared at Nadia and hold her hand. “My wife is missing, I don’t know where I can find her. I ask for your help to find her. I’m just worried of what might happen to her. Especially our family is in danger because of Kylie who was escaped from the jail. She threaten us.” Look at Nadia and rubbed her hands.

“Your name sir?”

“Prosecutor Kurt Joaquin.” Show his Identification Card.

“Okay sir, recorded. We will going to try our best to find your wife. May I know her name and image to detect that she’s really your wife?” a police get his recorded book.

“Her name is Carrie Kuda. Here’s her picture.” He shows Carrie’s picture from his phone.”

“Thank you sir. We will be on our duty.”

“Thank you!”

Kurt hold Nadia’s hand as they leave the station. Kurt take a drive in the middle of the street. They didn’t went home yet. They keep on searching Carrie. They doesn’t mind the time. Until in the middle of the street, which nothing can be found. The surrounding are dark and silence, only every post give light to the way. There’s no any houses around, so they can’t ask help that easy. “What happened?” Nadia asked as she stared Kurt worriedly who is trying to start the engine but it doesn’t work anyway.

“We’re running out of gas.” Kurt take a look around to see anyone whom they can ask some help.

“What? No way, I won’t let it happened. It’s dark in here and I’m afraid.” Nadia get her phone from her bag to have some call.

“Where are you going?” he stared Nadia going out from the car.

“I’m going to ask some help.” Nadia open her phone, but she found no signal. “Gosh, there’s no signal. How we can asked some help Kurt? It’s too far from the city from here. How we can get here without a car. Or we will going to walk it. No way, I’m afraid maybe we can meet some addict on our way and they will going to kill us. Or it’s better let’s just stay inside the car and wait the morning come.”

“Is it okay for you, that you will going to sleep with me tonight?” Kurt look smiling.

“Then, what? Is it bad for you? Remember, we almost sleep together but you feel knew this time? If you don’t want you can leave and you can get me here after or tomorrow.”

“You want me to leave me? You say, you are afraid then why you allowed me to leave? Okay, I’m leaving.” Kurt said and tried to open the door of the car.

“No, it’s just a joke please don’t mind it. Honestly, I’m afraid. Please stay here anyway.” She tamely smiled to him.

“But you told me to leave. Then, I’m leaving.” He open the door widely.

“Kurt, if you don’t want to listen me. You can’t see me after this. Go leave me if you don’t want to regret it later.” She’s getting mad, she settle down herself and crossed her arms and rolled her eyes out from Kurt.

“Oh, you’re mad.” He closed the door and come closer to Nadia. He held his hands to hug her but Nadia reject it. “Oh, what happened? I just want to say sorry, but you rejected me. Any problem with me?” he smiled.

“Then, why are you smiling? Are you insane?” she punched Kurt to this chest.

“Ouch.” He’s getting hurt. “It’s hurt, gosh.” He added.

Nadia get worried of what she’s doing. She tried to ask sorry to Kurt but Kurt rejected it as well. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to punch you. Sorry.”

“Did you forgive me when I asked sorry? Then, I will not forgive you too.”

“Gosh, sorry. I forgive you already. Please.”

Kurt pulled Nadia to him and kiss her lips vice versa. Nadia has nothing to do about it, since she froze herself. She can move and pushed Kurt away. Her heart beat fast as well as Kurt. Kurt gently pulled his hand down to Nadia’s body and he act to take Nadia’s clothes. But what a terrifying, she let Kurt to take it off. Gosh, what might happen to them after this? After Kurt take Nadia’s clothes off, he do the same. Then he pushed Nadia to lay down, and kiss Nadia’s whole body. But look as what Nadia’s doing. Before she pushed Kurt to lay down, she turned off the light of the car not to see them having s*x. Then she kiss Kurt’s body as what Kurt did to her. Is it for real or not? Having mad to each other turn to have a s*x in just for forgiveness. What is this? Nadia is already pregnant, what if she will going to bear again a baby? Is it called as twin?
