Chapter 1 — The Devil of the Underworld
It was 2 a.m.
The city was drowning in silence. Dark clouds covered the sky while a cold rain poured down endlessly, washing the empty streets.
On the outskirts of the city stood an old, abandoned warehouse.
Outside the building, several black luxury cars were parked in a perfect line. The rain fell heavily on their glossy surfaces, reflecting the dim street lights.
Inside the warehouse, the atmosphere was suffocating.
A man was tied tightly to a metal chair in the center of the room. His hands were bound behind his back, and faint traces of blood marked his bruised face.
His breathing was uneven.
Fear was clearly visible in his trembling eyes.
Around him stood several men dressed in black suits, their expressions cold and emotionless. None of them spoke.
They were waiting.
Suddenly—
The sound of car doors closing echoed outside.
A few seconds later, the massive metal door of the warehouse slowly creaked open.
Thud… Thud… Thud…
The sound of expensive leather shoes echoed across the silent warehouse.
Every man in the room instantly straightened and lowered his head in respect.
And then—
He walked in.
Tall.
Powerful.
Dangerously calm.
Nearly six feet tall, with broad shoulders and a perfectly built physique, he carried an aura that commanded fear without effort.
His face was sharp and strikingly handsome, like it had been carved from stone.
But the most terrifying thing about him…
Were his light blue eyes.
Cold.
Deep.
Merciless.
Eyes that looked as if they could see through a person’s soul.
He was David William.
The most feared name in the underground world of the city.
A man people whispered about in fear.
They said once David William marked someone as his enemy…
That person’s fate was already sealed.
David walked slowly toward the trembling man tied to the chair.
Each step he took felt heavier than the last.
The man’s body shook uncontrollably.
“P-Please… please spare me…” the man begged desperately.
“I made a mistake… it won't happen again…”
David stopped right in front of him.
For a few long seconds, he simply stared at the man.
His face showed no anger.
No frustration.
Only a terrifying calmness.
Then a faint smile appeared on his lips.
“A mistake?” David repeated slowly, his deep voice echoing through the warehouse.
The man nodded frantically, tears forming in his eyes.
David tilted his head slightly.
“Do you know,” he said quietly,
“what mistakes mean in my world?”
The man’s breathing grew faster.
David slowly reached into his coat.
The room fell completely silent.
He pulled out a gun.
Without any hurry… without the slightest change in expression… he raised the gun and placed it gently against the man’s forehead.
The man froze in pure terror.
Tears rolled down his cheeks.
“P-Please… David… give me one chance…” he cried.
David’s blue eyes turned even colder.
“I don’t give chances.”
His voice dropped into a whisper.
“I give consequences.”
For one brief moment—
Everything became silent.
Then—
Bang.
The gunshot exploded through the warehouse.
The man’s body went limp instantly.
But David didn’t even blink.
He lowered the gun calmly and handed it to one of his men.
Then he adjusted the sleeve of his coat and glanced at his watch.
“Clean this up,” he said coldly.
His men immediately stepped forward.
David turned and walked toward the exit.
Outside, the rain had grown heavier.
As he stepped out of the warehouse, one of his men quickly opened the door of a sleek black car.
David William entered the car without looking back.
The engine started.
Within seconds, the convoy of black cars disappeared into the dark, rain-covered streets.
Because in this city…
People feared the law.
But in the world of shadows and crime—
The name that terrified everyone the most was only one.
DAVID William....
