“Because I told you I took Mae to social events because it’s easier that way. If she’d been mine, I’d have included her in my plan to move here. Surely, you can read between the lines; you don’t strike me as stupid.”
Jerico couldn’t form words. He didn’t know why, but he felt betrayed. Here he’d believed Teo wouldn’t want him to be too close because he was queer—though, it might still apply since he’s a shifter. And who cared? Jerico would never be with a human. It didn’t matter how good Teo smelled or how his wolf calmed when he held him in his arms.
“Will they report you missing at work?”
