I listen as she tells me about the dream and the wolf named Luna, seems her wolf has woken up with her birthday a few days away. Rex is jumping for joy in my head and going on about trying to reach out to her tonight when Samantha is sleeping.

“Do you think I am crazy?” She ask pulling me from my thoughts. I smile at her and shake my head, “Not at all.” She looks at me and smiles, “It makes sense, if you believe in that stuff and believe me there is so much in this world that it’s not that far fetched.” I continue looking down at her sketch of Luna and smile. “If you are a young wolf she could be yours, and she is magnificent.” I add with a smile making her chuckle. We continue to talk and laugh for the rest of our lunch break and all I can do is think how lucky I am and how beautiful she is, I just hope she doesn’t reject us I hear Rex whimper in my head.

The day went by quickly and I rush to find Samantha finding her with Lauren and Rick chatting away, I com up behind Samantha and wrap my arms around her causing her to jump just a bit, “What are y’all talking about?” I ask releasing her and coming to her side. “Birthday stuff!” Lauren chimes in, “Ah, anything I can do to help.” I ask looking over at Samantha and notice her cheeks are nice and red, I love that I can make her flustered. “You know besides offering my place to have it.” I add with a smirk. “Well since you mention it,” Lauren says, “I have never seen your place, what if we come over and kinda scope the place out.” She continues. I look over at Rick,

‘What do you think?’ I ask through our mind link.

‘Maybe but we would need to make sure Alpha is okay with a human being in the pack house.’

Nodding I return my attention back to Lauren, “I have to run it by my father first, perhaps tomorrow.” She nods, “Sounds like a plan, she you tomorrow then.” She says turning on her heels and heading to leave, “See y’all later.” She adds with a wave. Rick and I walk Samantha home and spend some time with her waiting for her dad to come home. Rex is getting excited to reach out to Luna tonight, I wonder if Sam will see Rex in her dream if Luna allows it. Rick and I finally begin to head home and we talk about Samantha and Luna, he has the same thoughts I do so hopefully Rex can reach her and maybe Luna can prepare Samantha for the awakening. 

REX

It’s finally time for me to reach out, I can feel her but than again I could feel her since the day our eyes met.

‘Luna can you hear me?’ I wait for a moment before trying again.

‘Luna?’

‘Yes I am here.’

‘My name is Rex, I am your mate.’ I say excitedly

‘I can feel the bond my dear, Does she know?’

‘Not yet, she doesn’t even know she is a wolf.’

‘What, how is that possible?’

‘She lost her mother and her father who is a human has been raising her in the human town, I am not sure yet if he knows anything either.’

I hear her growl and sigh. ‘Well I guess I should fill her in a bit, I wonder if that’s why the goddess woke me early.’

Samantha

I open my eyes in the same meadow this time instead of just the white wolf named Luna, I also see the same black wolf nuzzling her and talking. I decide to walk towards them ready to get some answers when they both turn to look at me. “Sam, my dear, I think it’s time to talk.” Luna says coming towards me with the black one right on her heels. “Should I be scared?” I ask looking at the black one. I hear her chuckle, “No this is Rex our mate.” she says, “Are you sure you are ready for all the answers you seek?” She continues as she gets to me and sits with Rex curling up on the ground right next to her.

“Our?” I ask. She nods, “You and I are one my dear.”

 Why am I not surprised, “Why now is it because I turn sixteen in a few days?” 

She nods, “It is the age in which we come of age and can finally shift.” She looks at Rex, “And if we are lucky meet our mates.” She adds giving him a soft nuzzle.

They are so cute already, “but that must mean my mom and dad know and nobody told me.”

She nods again, “From my understanding your dad is human, so it would have been your mother, our mother.”

I give her a soft pat on the head, “It’s not like she wanted to leave me with no information, and now I have you.” I say, “and you it seems.” I add looking down at Rex. Why am I taking all this information so nicely is it because I already kinda knew.

“Why have you woken up a few days early, I am not sixteen yet?”

She looks to Rex and back to me, “We have a theory, we think the moon goddess knew you needed to be ready for the awakening and figured I needed to start to wake up.” She states.

Rex stands and nuzzles her, “I have to go my love, only a few days left and we can run together, Sam as soon as you turn sixteen Luna will be with you always and so will we.” He says

“Who is we?” I ask and he just chuckles.

“All in good time my love all in good time.”

“Rex.” I say, “Thank you for saving me that nigh.” I move to him and give him a hug

“It was no trouble at all, but please try to avoid situations like that, it was hard not to bite heads off.” He says with a chuckle before nuzzling Luna one last time and jetting off into the woods.

I look back at Luna and smile, “Should I worry that I am half human?”

She tilts her head, “What do you mean?”

“Will I be weaker or will I not be able to be a real full fledge wolf?”

She chuckles, “The wolf genes are much stronger, we will be just fine, and Rex is an Alpha wolf so we will be his Luna.” 

“His Luna?” 

“Yes it’s like the queen for humans, it’s fitting since my name is Luna.”

We continued like this through the night and I got many answers and feel excited about my birthday now, morning came too quickly but Luna promises we will be together soon and she isn’t going to leave me.
