The dream

Samantha I stood with my back to the door replaying what just happened. Stephen just confessed his feelings and kissed me, not just any kiss but a passionate one and my very first. After about five minutes I finally move from my dazed position at the door and go to my room. “Homework, I have homework to do.” I say out loud to myself. Shaking my head I make my way to my desk and pull out my books and try to focus, but it’s no use my mind is all about that kiss. This is where I wish my mother was here so we could take and I could understand my own feelings. I haven’t known Stephen for long and he seems like a nice guy, what would it hurt to see if it’s worth it, but why now and not months ago or even years ago? Why does he see me now? Rick could be a reason for the sudden show of affection as it could be a guy thing, but I don’t think of Rick that way he is just a friend.  I sigh closing my book and putting my stuff away. “No use in trying, I”m to distracted.” I say plopping myself onto my bed and turning off my lamp. Laying there in the dark for a few while scrolling my phone I notice another news article about the massive wolves being spotted and decide to research and see if it’s possible. “Oh look.” I say to myself as I press on a link taking me to a random supernatural website about all kinds of creatures. Laughing at myself for even opening it I still decide to read, “these things come up because someone has seen or witnessed such creatures right?” I whisper.  Supernatural creatures: The werewolf Known for being bigger than normal wolves, werewolves in their wolf form are considered to be massive in size compared to say a timber wolf or arctic wolf. We all know wolves live in huge packs with one Alpha male and a female usually considered the Alpha female who lead and protect the rest of the family. These two wolves normally are bigger than the others but for werewolves they are even bigger close to the size of an average human female while on all fours so about five feet or more but over six feet when on its hind legs.  “I wonder if this could be true, it’s not like we would really know.” I say again while deciding to close my phone and close my eyes. I finally heard dad come in and I looked at the time from my phone, it’s three in the morning I close my eyes and snuggle back into my pillow falling back to sleep. My mind drifts back to the night I was attacked and the massive black wolf that scared the attackers away. ‘How did Stephen not see it.’ I wonder  I open my eyes and I’m in a meadow, looking around I see a lake and a cabin. “My mothers favorite place to spend summers.” I say as I realize where I am. It’s my safe place in my mind and it’s where my dreams like to take me, but this doesn’t feel like a dream. Looking around I notice something big in the meadow, slowly I make my way over to it and notice it’s not just something it’s a wolf. This one is white, moving closer I can tell it knows I’m here because it moved and looked right at me. She has beautiful violet eyes, “I won’t hurt you.” I say as I approach the beautiful creature. She stirs and stands coming towards me in a slow pace with interest in her eyes. She is massive too, just about as big as the black one I saw. “My name is Samantha.” I say to her as she gets in front of me and sits, she is leveled with my face just sitting. She sniffs at me and nuzzles my hand and than I heard her.  “I’m Luna you must be close my dear.” I shake my head and look at her confused, “Close to what?” I ask. This is what I get for reading supernatural stuff before bed. She chuckled like she knew what I was thinking. “When is it?” I look confused and realize she must be talking about my birthday since that’s the only event coming up I can think of. “When is what?” I ask. “Your sixteenth birthday?” She said again with a chuckle. “In about four days.” She looks again and nuzzles me. “That is why I have awakened, I will see you soon and I will answer all questions then.” She said as she started to turn from me. Not even a second later she sprinted into the woods, “Wait!” I call after her but it was too late she was gone. I woke up to my alarm and I groan like usual, I really hate the mornings and today I have to face Stephen and have no idea how. Getting up I make it to the bathroom and begin to get ready, potty, shower, teeth the works as per usual. “Hey Sam want some breakfast?” My dad asks as I come around the corner. I shake my head, “ Morning dad, thanks but I’m already running late I’ll eat at school.” I say giving him a hug before heading out. I plug my headphones in my phone and off I go, what a crazy dream I think as I walk. It felt so real and in my safe place. She said I’d see she again, but how and why? What does turning sixteen have to do with all this? “Wait!” I say out loud while pulling out my phone and opening the browser which was still on the page from last night. Typing in the search bar ‘sixteen and it’s importance.’  When a werewolf turns sixteen he or she finally meets their wolf and begins to search for their mates. Sixteen is the coming of age for most young wolves, their first shift is said to be painful but that’s because it’s the first time, during the first full moon after they turn sixteen. After the first shift werewolves can shift whenever they want.  “Interesting.” Then I type in the search ‘mates’. A werewolf mate is a goddess given soul mate as humans would call it. They are their true and only other half. When a wolf finds their mate they become stronger together, and better. The mating bond is still a huge mystery but it’s what ever werewolf strives for! That sounds nice to be honest, but this is all theoretical and this is why I had that dream. I’m brought out of my thoughts when I feel a tap on my shoulder, I’m almost scared to turn around and see Stephen. Gathering what courage I had I turned my head and saw Lauren. “Hey Lauren.” I say putting my phone and headphones away. “Girl only four days left you should let me throw you a party!” She says matter-of-factly. Sighing I turn myself back towards the school and walk away knowing she would follow, “I don’t want a party, I don’t even know anyone who would come besides you, Rick, and Stephen.” I say blushing a bit as I recall the night before. She sighs, “Well that’s still enough to celebrate, don’t you think?” She ask. I shrug as we walk into the school, “I guess, but I really don’t want to have anything.” I continue.  “Don’t want any what?” I hear a familiar voice say. Turning I see Stephen walking up and my face goes red. “A party for her birthday!” Lauren says, “She acts like it’s not important and it’s just another day!” She continues. Sighing I continue to walk to my locker with both of them in tow, “It is just another day.” I say opening my locker and turning to face them, “just because it’s my sixteenth means nothing really.” I say. “That’s not true!” Stephen snaps, “Sixteen is a coming of age for everyone right, so why wouldn’t it be important!” He continues. He looks to me than to Lauren, “Lauren let’s talk about her party later.” He says and I see Lauren’s face light up. “I don’t want a party!” I snap. “A party where and when!” I hear Ricks voice as he approach’s the group. Lauren looks over at him and I can tell she is crushing hard for him, it’s funny to watch. “Samantha’s birthday party!” She tells him. He looks at me and I sigh. “I don’t want one,” he puts his hand up interrupting me, “It’s not up for discussion, we will celebrate your special day and you can’t stop us!” He says with a smirk, and with that he grabs both Stephen and Lauren putting his arms over their shoulders and they walk away. I shake my head and sigh, “Oh well guess I Ave no choice.” I say closing my locker and heading to class.  During homeroom I really couldn’t focus and ended up drawing in my notebook, I really wanted to talk to Stephen mostly about last night but since he didn’t think I was crazy that one night about seeing a wolf, that maybe I could talk to him about my dreams. The day moves quickly and I’m sitting at my table for lunch waiting for the group I’m sure will find me, only took them two minutes. First is Lauren who knows where I like to hide and sit, next is Rick together with Stephen. I look up at them all and see they all are smiling, well they became close friends fast it only took my birthday to do it. “What’s with the smiles?” I ask with a sigh closing my notebook that I still was drawling in. “We figured out everything!” Lauren said sitting down. Sighing again, “Should I even ask?” I say watching the guys sit as well. “Well we will have it at Stephens.” She says looking over to him, “He says his place is big and since it’s just us it would probably make you more comfortable with the space, also Rick lives in the same neighborhood apparently.” She say. I look over at them and remember Stephen telling me everyone in his neighborhood was like a big family so that’s why I keep seeing them hanging out. I look over at Stephen and our eyes meet, he gives a sexy smile and all I can do is blush and look away shyly. “So how’s that sound?” Rick ask causing me to look at him, I nod “sounds good, I guess.” I hear Lauren sigh, “you could sound more happy about it!” She says shaking her head. I shake my head and we all just sit and talk while eating our lunch, soon both Lauren and Rick decide to leave and head to class and it’s just me and Stephen. I look over at him and smile, “so about last night,” I start to say and I notice his eyes light up at the mention of it. “I know you asked me to wait to answer you, but I have some questions before I can think more about it.” I say and he nods so I continue, “ you’re a senior so we’ve been in the same school for a few years, why now do you notice me?” I ask. He takes a moment to think on how to answer me, “To be honest, I can’t really answer that just yet, but I really haven’t been one who enjoyed coming to school and I’d spend most days avoiding being in the halls and even here in the cafeteria.” He looks at me and smiles, “The one time I’m in the hallway just a week or so ago I heard your name out of everyone in the crowd and it’s the first time I have actually seen you, and than that attack. I feel a connection with you and I don’t want to ignore it.” He continues. Okay that makes sense, “Okay, but why the sudden kiss last night?” I ask knowing my cheeks when red. I noticed his own face kinda go red, it’s cute seeing him get all shy. “Well honestly it was an impulse, I know I like you and wanted to ask you out.” He starts, “then I saw you with Rick and got jealous, I really don’t understand my own actions and I know I probably crossed a line or moved too fast, I am sorry.” He says his eyes lock with mine and I can see they are swimming with emotion. I shake my head and smile, “No it’s okay, I’ve just never been kissed before and like you said came out of nowhere.” I say honestly. “I stole your first kiss.” He asked. I nod, “But I won’t lie, I also feel a connection with you and that was a perfect first kiss.” I say with a smile. He smiles and takes my hand which are on top of the table resting on my notebook reminding me of what I really wanted to talk about. “Hey can I talk to you about something and not sound crazy?” I ask. He nods and kisses the top of my hand, “nothing you ever ask me could make you seem crazy to me!” He states. I smile and open my notebook to my drawling, he moves over to sit next to me looking at the picture. “She’s beautiful.” He says looking at the white wolf with violet eyes sitting in a meadow that I drew from my memory of the dream. “Does she have a name?” He ask and I nod telling him about the dream.
