A new place

Samantha I awaken in a unfamiliar room, it’s dimly lit so I can not really tell much about its colors, but it’s big and I am on a, what looks like a king size, bed. I spring up a bit to fast causing my head to spin. “Where am I?” I think out loud as I remember what happened. I decide to get up and make my way to the door, Was I kidnapped? I shake my head, no, there was a wolf that scared the men off a massively big one at that. I think to myself as my hand goes for the door nob when it jiggles and the door opens and a handsome young man walks in. “Ah, good you’re awake, are you okay?” He asks. I nod at his question not sure what else to say. I think I’ve seen him around school.  “Where am I? What happened?” I ask. He moves past me and lightly pulls me with him, he sits me on the edge of the bed and kneels down in front of me so that we are at the same eye level. “You were attacked by three men, and they were trying to take you forcefully to their car.” He pauses for a moment to read my expression before he continues, “I heard you’re cry for help and came to help you, but found you passed out on the ground.” He states. I look down at my hands which he had in his own. His hands were warm and soft but I can feel the strength they have, this feels comforting though I’ve never been this close or even touched willingly by a guy before.  The thought makes me blush slightly. “I - I remember a wolf.” I say looking up at him, “It was massive, I think the one I’ve been seeing reports about. It scared them away and all I remember is it approaching me.” His look goes to a worried look but I continue, “I wasn’t scared though, I felt a strange comfort from it.” I say. I must sound crazy as he looks at me. “What’s your name? A girl at school I heard call you Sammi, I assume it’s short for Samantha?” He ask. I nod, so I have seen him around school. “My name is Stephen, I am a senior at school.” He says with a smile, “It’s nice to meet you!” He says causing me to smile.  “Stephen, thank you for helping me.” I say looking over to the window remembering it’s the evening and start to wonder what time it is. I jump up quickly causing him to jump back stunned like he had done something wrong. “What time is it?” I ask worried as my father must be looking for me. I find my bag at the edge of the bed on the floor as I look through it finding my phone. “It’s about midnight.” I hear him say as I look at all the missed calls and messages from my worried father. “I need to call my dad.” I say, he nods standing where he is as I begin to call.  “Samantha!” I hear my dads worried voice. “I’m sorry dad, something happened and I was left unconscious.” I say quickly adding that I am okay and was rescued by a boy from my school. “Where are you? I am coming to get you!” He says and I look to Stephen. “Can you tell my dad where we are?” I ask handing my phone to him. He nods taking the phone and speaking to my dad, I hear him tell my dad the address and they exchange a few words and I can tell my dad was thanking him for helping me. He hands me my phone back and my dad tells me to hang tight, “I love you too dad.” I say before hanging up the phone.  I look over and see Stephen looking at me making me blush a bit. “Are you sure you are okay?” He ask. He looks concerned. “I think so, I’m still a bit shaken up but I guess it’s my fault I should have taken the ride home instead of walking.” I say feeling stupid. He lets out a growl, “It is not you fault, those men should have to pay for what they did.” I watch him wondering about the growl but shake it off, “They didn’t do anything thanks to that wolf and you for coming to help.” I say “nothing to worry about anymore.” I add, but that seems to bother him. “I’m sorry.” I say to him. He looks up shocked, “Why.” He snaps sounding angry at my apology. Stephen “I’m sorry.” Samantha say. He voice sounds so beautiful but the statement pisses me off. “Why?” I ask sounding a bit to angry. I can’t tell her yet about our bond because truth be told I have never heard of a werewolf mating a human unless it was forced, but she’s my mate given by the moon goddess. My father is researching and chatting with the elders and priest of our pack to find out more. She looks at me with those beautiful green eyes. “I don’t like to be a problem for people.” She says lowering her eyes. I wish she would keep looking at me.  Goddess this is going to be hard, I have to resist for now even though Rex is pouncing around in my head so happy to have found his mate. I shake my head at her and say her name causing her to look at me. “You are not a problem, I promise you that.” I say causing a small smile to form on her lips. Oh how I wish I could taste those beautiful lips. Stop it Stephen, she doesn’t know or could take in this info right now. I hold out my hand, “Come let me show you around while we wait for your father.” I say as I watch her slowly reach up and take my hand. I smile as her touch makes my body sing, “How old are you?” I find myself asking, crap, “sorry I don’t know why I asked that.”  though I do have reasons.  As werewolves we are able to find our mates starting at sixteen, humans usually wait til their eighteen before committing to another and it’s not a mate thing but a feeling of trust and love that they believe is true. Most human relationships end whereas we wolves mate for life, our mate is our other half and to live without our mate is a lonely and dull life, if we find our mate we can be rejected or accepted. “She shakes her head, “It’s okay, I’m fifteen but my birthday is only a few weeks away.” She says, “You’re a senior so you are either seventeen or eighteen right.” She adds. I nod, “ just turned seventeen about three months ago.” I say.  That’s probably why I am suddenly being pulled towards her, she’s about to come of age as a werewolf, but she is human, how does that work? I wonder. I show her around our pack house but forget that she human sometimes as I can see her shock of the size. My father ordered everyone to stay out the pack house tonight because of her being her. The humans don’t know about our existence except the one from the old wars between us and them. There is still a group out there that hunts us if we go after humans. “Your home is huge!” She states a little shocked. I expected that and I chuckle slightly.  “We are what you’d call the higher family in this area, everyone looks to us for help and enjoys getting together here. We are a big family if you think about it.” I say trying my hardest to not give away too much right now. “Sounds nice.” She says looking back to me. I wish so badly to just kiss her now, but I know I can’t and it hurts me so much. “You’re dad is here.” I say pulling her with me. “How did you know?” She ask looking confused. Crap, my stupid wolf hearing. “It’s been about thirty minutes, it takes about that long to get here.” I quickly say trying to cover my ass. She nods as she follows me to the door. Before I open the door I stop and spin her around quickly into my arms giving her a hug. I know why I did it but I could tell it shocked her but she hugged back not so tight but still she hugged me back.  Normally I wouldn’t be able to part with her but she hasn’t learnt the truth yet and even though it’s going to hurt me to let her go not able to protect her, I have to. “I will see you at school.” I whisper to her. She nods as I let her go, I can tell she’s shy and not use to affection. Her father hugs her tight before leading her to the car and closing the door behind her, I just want to go pull her out this hurts so much. “Thank you again.” Her father says giving me a strong handshake. “ Anytime” I say back and I watch as he takes my beloved away from me. School couldn’t come fast enough.
