“Two minutes,” said Tarkus.
“Sorry, what?” asked Kaira.
“Two minutes to go. The Glimmer is as ready as it’s going to be. So am I.”
“Ready to hit the really small area?”
“Yeah. Though it’s more like a small stable tunnel than the area we would normally try to hit. To make things worse we’re coming at it from an awkward angle, so it’s not like we have the whole of the tunnel to hit. We’re coming in from a nearly ninety degree angle, which means we’re hitting the narrow width rather than the somewhat longer length.”
“Can we do it?”
“We should be able to. If it hasn’t collapsed.”
“Collapsed? Are you kidding?”
“No. It’s a pretty unstable area by all accounts. If too many ships have tried to use it then it may well have collapsed. We just have to hope that hasn’t happened.”
