Half an hour passed. Kaira was starting to get a little anxious. Baxter had checked in on those who were waiting a couple of times, but she hadn’t seen him for a good ten minutes. The others in the room didn’t seem worried, but she doubted any of them were on such a tight deadline.
Baxter stepped into the room, a smile on his face.
“I’m so sorry for the delay. The Wanderer was held up slightly, but it has docked now. Jess has to pass all those he saved on his last trip to others who will see them safely home, then he will come straight here. I promise he’ll be here within the next forty minutes.”
