They’d just completed one of the smoother transitions both out of and back into jump space. Once Tarkus was happy with the state of the ship he stood and they both headed off the flight deck. Once it was locked he wasted no time retreating to his cabin, leaving her alone once again. Kaira had her own routines now. After each transition back into jump space she went to the kitchen to make a drink and something to eat, then sat for ten to fifteen minutes while she finished both. Only then would she head for her cabin. The routine allowed her to hold the boredom at bay for slightly longer, but nowhere near long enough. The Glimmer was only four days out from the last station and the time already weighed heavily on her. And now there were almost two days until the next transition. Two
