Kaira stretched in the water, her mind only slowly rising from sleep. The water around her was deliciously warm and with her ears under the water she could hear nothing except for the soft flow of blood through her body.
She stretched again, then her eyes flew open as a deep ringing sound filled the water around her. Moments later she shot up in the bath, cursing herself. She’d fallen asleep! How could she have been so stupid! It seemed like Tarkus hadn’t found her, but still… so stupid!
At least she couldn’t have been out for long. The water was still as warm as when she’d laid back to rest so she couldn’t have slept for more than ten minutes. Fifteen at most.
