Kaira woke slowly, trying to ignore the persistent beeping that was intruding on her sleep. It refused to go away so she pulled her head out from under the pillow. Finally she woke enough to realise it was the b****y alarm she’d set on her tablet. That meant it was nearly time for the first course change. She clambered out of bed, washed up quickly, got dressed, then headed out of the room. She felt as if she’d only been asleep for a couple of hours, but when she checked the time she found it had been nearer to eight. Surely she shouldn’t feel this tired after that much sleep?
