Prologue
As they walked out of the courtroom, Andy felt as though a heavy weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
It had been almost 2 months since that horrible night. And she woke up in the hospital a week after the attack. Bruised and with scars on her arms, legs and torso that she wasn't sure would ever go away.
Randy never contested the charges and pleaded guilty to the r**e and assault charges as well as attempted theft of her apartment.
He told the court that he had been high on drugs that night and wanted money for his next fix.
It wasn't really a trial since he had pleaded guilty, but he did have to make his admission to the judge. She was hoping that now she could try and put it all behind her. She wanted to try and forget everything that happened that night.
“I can’t believe it’s finally over” Andy said, as she turned to face Ms. Fredricks. “I’m not sure how much more of this I could take. Thanks for helping me put him behind bars where he belongs.”
They shook hands and Andy agreed to go to her office the next day to make sure all the necessary papers were signed.
