Tired of being single on Valentine's Day, Chloe and Liam decide to take matters into their own hands with a friendly dating app competition. The rules are simple: create a profile, go on as many quality dates as possible, and absolutely no ghosting. What starts as a lighthearted game quickly turns into a journey of self-discovery as they share their dating disasters and triumphs. But as their bond deepens, they begin to see each other in a new light. Could their competitive spirit be masking a deeper connection? With Valentine's Day fast approaching, Chloe and Liam must decide if they’re willing to risk their friendship for a chance at love.

the challenge
Empty pizza boxes and discarded takeout containers littered Chloe's coffee table. Fairy lights twinkled around the living room, casting a warm glow on the scene. Chloe, in her favorite oversized hoodie and sweatpants, scrolled through her phone with a grimace. The Oakhaven winter wind howled outside, a stark contrast to the warmth inside. Liam sprawled on the couch, flipping through channels on the TV, a half-eaten bag of chips precariously balanced on his chest. They'd been friends since Liam's first contract with Innovate Solutions two years ago, a bond forged over shared misery in a particularly brutal product launch meeting. "Any luck, Cupid?" he asked, not taking his eyes off the screen. "Ugh," Chloe groaned, holding up her phone. "This guy's profile picture is him holding a fish. A dead fish. And his bio says, 'Looking for someone who can bait my hook.'" Liam burst out laughing. "Okay, that's… definitely a choice." "Tell me about it. This whole online dating thing is a wasteland. I swear, everyone on this app is either a catfish, a commitment-phobe, or obsessed with taxidermy." Liam finally looked over, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You know what we should do?" "What?" Chloe asked, bracing herself. Liam's ideas were usually… interesting. "A competition." Chloe raised an eyebrow. "A competition? What kind of competition?" "A dating app competition. We both create profiles, set some ground rules, and see who can get the most… let's say, quality dates by Valentine's Day." Chloe considered this, tapping her finger on her chin. "Hmm… I don't know… It sounds a little… desperate." "Desperate? No way! It's an adventure! A social experiment! Plus," Liam added, wiggling his eyebrows, "the loser has to buy the winner dinner at that fancy new Italian place downtown." Chloe's eyes widened. "You're on," she said, a competitive spark igniting in her eyes. "But I'm setting the ground rules." Liam grinned. "Deal. May the best swiper win."
