Imani put her phone on the table and looked up. “Are you two prepared to part with it?”
“That happened so fast,” Ivy said. She clutched Shelly’s hand. “But we’re ready. It’s the right thing to do. The Christmas egg was a thing of beauty we had a chance to enjoy. But now, the good that will flow from it for others will be a blessing.”
Imani nodded. “That money will be a much-needed windfall for those organizations, especially this time of year.”
“I feel good about that,” Shelly said. “Maybe my sister’s outlook is rubbing off on me. I wonder who bought it?”
Imani consulted the message. “It says we’re not supposed to disseminate this information because the foundation will make a formal announcement, but if you promise not to share with the media or post it on social media…”
“We won’t,”
