Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipes
One of my favorite holiday treats is hot chocolate, especially the cinnamon-laced, slightly spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate. In Seabreeze Christmas, Ivy and Shelly prepared their mother’s traditional hot chocolate recipe. Sweet cinnamon and the subtle spice of chili powder set this recipe apart from others, so I wanted to share two versions with you.
Many authentic recipes call for rustic Mexican chocolate, or chocolate de mesa, from popular brands such as Abuelita or Ibarra. These brands of chocolate also contain sugar and cinnamon.
