Chapter 26Giant had gone to the grocery store and cleaned the kitchen yesterday. In the morning, he cooked.
“Quiche needs time to cool down before you eat it,” he told Pidge and Bradley. “Eat a pie crust cookie if you’re hungry.”
The cookies were scraps of trimmed off dough, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and rolled into twists. There were only a few of them. Giant was making orange muffins for the guests.
“You’re going to have visitors,” Pidge told Buddy, holding his front paws. Buddy wagged and tried to lick Pidge’s nose. “New friends! They’re coming just to see you. Gordo and Anji.”
“Nialle and Olive are coming, too,” Giant informed him.
“Uh, and Eline,” Bradley said.
“Puppies are more important than prejudice, huh?”
