Chapter 23They had gone to sleep so early that for once they woke up before the alarm. Giant made pancakes, then drove to Cathy’s so that Pidge could see with his own eyes that Buddy was okay, even though Cathy had sent photos last night of him playing with other dogs.
Buddy was so delighted to see them that he abandoned his breakfast half-eaten to fling himself on Pidge with high-pitched squeaks. He was so excited that he peed a little on Pidge’s shirt.
“Luckily for you, I hadn’t gotten around to taking all the old clothes out of the car yet,” Giant said, and went to get him a blue tee and a green and brown flannel shirt. It was the most colorful outfit Pidge had ever worn. He reluctantly gave Buddy a last hug. The fur showed less on the flannel.
They went to classes. They ate lunch. I
