Dear Diary: Summer Camp

503 Words
Two days ago, every student of our university received the invitation for the summer camp. Olivia and I decided to join, as if we have a choice, the camp because it became mandatory without consulting the students nor the parents/guardians. Exciting right? -_- I bet some of them do not agree with it. Hahaha. Summer plans were ruined by the university. I woke up exactly 6:00am and do my same old routines - check social media accounts, face the mirror, bun my hair, brush my teeth and scroll again. You can call me a social media addict. Hahaha. Meanwhile, my fingers are already trembling due to too much scrolling. So, I started to packed my clothes and my essentials into my travel bag even though it's too early. Also, I don't like it when I'm in a hurry then something will be left, that' so annoying. So, I prepare everything I need to survive in that summer camp. Dad knocked my door and peeked, "Are you ready?". He smiled widely like he's the one who's going to join the camp. He was always been supportive to me ever since mom died. He puts a lot of time and effort on me. When my mom died, he told me that we will be loving, caring, protective, responsible, supportive, etc just like mom. So he did, he never failed. "Almost dad." I zipped my bag and lie down on my bed again. A few more minutes left before we left and all I did was scroll down my phone waiting for the time of leave. Until 8:30am, 30 minutes before the orientation starts, my dad called me and carried my stuffs. He started the car and I immediately hop on it. The place was not in the school so dad gave me a ride. Also, he wanted to check the place if I will be comfortable or not. Even though I'm in college, he never let her baby to become independent. As we arrived, I saw a lot of students building their tents. Olivia told me that I only need to bring myself and she will take care of everything including our sleeping place. She is really reliable, she's the best! Minutes later, I hugged my dad and started to say goodbye. "Good morning, students. Welcome to your first ever summer camp course! Are you excited?", he greeted. I bet this speaker will be one of the facilitators. His voice is full of excitement. I hate it, because there are a lot of things running in my head like they are ready to give task on the students while they are just seating and watching them suffer. Something like that. Hahaha. And suddenly, I realized that the voice was familiar. I want to confirm it so I turned my head, tiptoed and try to extend my neck to see who was speaking. Then I found out it's Mr. Zamora. I got goose bumps and try to hide my face as if he recognized me.
