SERIES OF SHOTS:

Kaden is having a business meeting. But it looks like he doesn't really care about the meeting. He is not listening to the discussion around him. His mind is elsewhere.

Bree is in class. But she isn't really listening to the lecture, either. Her mind is elsewhere, too.

Kaden is checking Bree's f*******: page. He is looking at her photos. These photos were taken at different places and times. A shot of her and her friends at some place. In all the photos she posed with a wide happy smile. One such photo draws our attention. She is with a girl in this one. They are sitting at a table and there is a big pan on it. The food in the pan looks like tomatoes fried with eggs.

Bree keeps doing volunteering at school and the care home.

But she is sad all the time.

Kaden is in his apartment sitting sadly on the sofa with Bree's scarf in his hands. He is gently smelling it.

Series of shots ends.

BREE'S APARTMENT. DAY.

The doorbell is ringing. Bree opens the door. It is Olivia.

BREE

Oh, hi.

OLIVIA

Hi.

BREE

Come in.

OLIVIA

Thank you.

BREE'S APARTMENT - A LITTLE LATER.

Olivia is sitting on the sofa. Bree appears with two steaming cups of coffee in her hands. She hands one of them to Olivia and sits, too.

OLIVIA

Thanks.

She lifts the cup and takes a sip.

OLIVIA (CONT'D)

I thought you were angry with me, too.

BREE

Why would I be? You did nothing wrong. Everyone is responsible for their own actions.

OLIVIA

Yeah... About that. That's actually something that I want to talk to you about.

BREE

Olivia, please. I really don't want to talk about that. It's kind of painful for me.

OLIVIA

Just please, hear me out. I'm not

defending my brother here but I do

know him. And I'm here to tell

you... I just want you to know the

truth about how he feels... That

he wasn't faking his feelings for

you, Bree. I don't know what you

heard the other day, but all I

know is that... You are very

precious and special to my

brother.

BREE

Olivia...

OLIVIA

Just please, let me finish. I know him very well. He is my brother. I know everything about his life. I know all his friends. And I knew all his girlfriends, too. And he didn't have many.

OLIVIA (CONT'D)

He's not the kind of guy who is only interested in s*x or something else. And I know that he never treated anyone the way he treats you. For example, he never invites anyone to his private space, to his apartment. But he invited you there. This means only one thing. He wants you to know everything about him. He wants to share everything with you. That's why, I'm sure, there's some misunderstanding here. I think, you should give him a chance. At least to explain... But that's just my opinion. Only if you also feel something for him... Because, if the feelings are mutual, it's a pity and shame to walk away from that this way, without giving it a chance...

Then she looks at the clock.

OLIVIA (CONT'D)

Oh my God! I forgot that I have an appointment. I have to go, sweetie.

And she starts towards the door. Bree walks her to the door.

OLIVIA (CONT'D)

tomorrow afternoon, right?

BREE

Yeah.

OLIVIA

You coming? After class we are

going to have a meeting with the

professor about our research. It

is important, you know.

BREE

Yeah, I know. I'm coming. I just have to do something before that.

Olivia stops at the door. Turns to Bree and hugs her.

OLIVIA

Okay, my dear. See you in class.

And please, think about my words.

Bree smiles. Olivia leaves. Bree comes back into the room. Olivia's words seem to hit home. She knows Olivia. And she knows that Olivia wouldn't say anything if she wasn't absolutely sure.

THE SAME DAY. THE

CARE HOME:

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE.

Bree and the administrator (a 40-45 year old woman) are here. There are a lot of invitation cards on the desk. They are for upcoming fundraising event. Bree is helping the administrator organize them. While doing it, she sees an invitation with Kaden's name on it. She takes it and looks at it.

BREE

Are you inviting Kaden Elmer, too?

THE ADMINISTRATOR

Of course. He's been helpful and so kind to us. Hopefully he will join us for the event. We need to mail his invitation as soon as possible.

BREE

(after thinking a little

bit)

You know, no need to mail it. I can deliver it to him personally.

THE ADMINISTRATOR

Oh, can you? That's so nice of

you, sweetheart!

Bree smiles and looks at the invitation in her hands.

EVENING. KADEN'S

APARTMENT:

Kaden is at home alone. The doorbell rings. He goes towards the door to open it. And when he opens the door, a tall, beautiful and blonde girl jumps in from behind the door, yelling "Surprise!". Then she hugs Kaden. Kaden is surprised. He definitely wasn't expecting her.

KADEN

Melanie?? What are you doing here?

MELANIE

Awww... You are not happy to see

me?

KADEN

Of course, I am happy to see you! But what are you doing here? I thought you were in Paris. When did you come back?

MELANIE

Just now. I came directly to you

from the airport.

She points to the door and Kaden sees her luggage outside the door. He takes it in.

KADEN

So how long are you going to stay this time?

MELANIE

I don't know yet. By the way, can I stay at your place for a while? I just don't want to stay at my parents'. And you know I hate hotels. I will find a place soon, I promise.

KADEN

Sure. You can stay as long as you want.

AFTER A WHILE:

KADEN'S APARTMENT BUILDING.

A taxi stops in front of the building and Bree gets out. Taxi leaves. Bree looks up at the house. She takes a deep breath and starts walking towards it slowly. After she reaches Kaden's door, she smoothes her hair and straightens her clothes. Takes another deep breath before ringing the doorbell. The door is opened by an unexpected person. It is Melanie. She is wearing only a towel! Apparently, she just got out of the shower. Bree looks confused. She wasn't expecting this. Her face immediately changes.

MELANIE

Yes?

Bree looks at her and decides not to go in.

BREE

Sorry!

And she turns to leave. But then suddenly she thinks of something and turns back to Melanie. Melanie is watching her. She looks confused, too.

BREE (CONT'D)

You know what...

And she takes out the invitation from her bag and hands it to Melanie.

BREE (CONT'D)

Give it to Mr. Elmer!

And she quickly leaves. Melanie couldn't even ask who she was. She closes the door and walks to the kitchen with the invitation in her hands. Kaden is in the kitchen making coffee for himself and Melanie.

BACK TO BREE:

Bree is walking out from the front yard very angrily.

BREE (CONT'D)

(talking to herself)

He never lets anyone into his

private space!? Huh! Apparently

you don't know your brother,

Olivia!

BACK TO KADEN AND

MELANIE:

KITCHEN.

Kaden sees Melanie coming with an envelope in her hands.

KADEN

Did someone come?

MELANIE

I don't know. A girl came. She

asked me to give it to you. She

was kind of weird.

Kaden comes up to her and takes the invitation. As soon as he sees the invitation, he understands that it was Bree.

KADEN

(worried, excited)

Where is she now?

MELANIE

Ahh, she left. She didn't even...

But Kaden doesn't wait for her to finish her sentence. He immediately runs out of the apartment after Bree. He sees her walking out of the gate. He reaches her and calls out to her.

KADEN

Bree!

Bree turns to face him. There's a cold, angry look on her face.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Bree! Bree, it's not what you're

thinking! She is just my...

Bree cuts him short.

BREE

(very rude)

I don't care who she is! That's none of my business! I just came to give you the invitation! Sorry if I bothered you!

And she leaves. Kaden knows that right now it's useless trying to convince her that it's not what she thinks.

THE NEXT DAY. NOON.

THE SPECIAL SCHOOL

FOR CHILDREN WITH

DISABILITIES:

FRONT YARD.

Bree has already finished her work at school and she is ready to leave. She is at the school gates. At this moment a car stops by her. The front passenger side window goes down. Bree leans over and sees it's Lindsey's mother. She is smiling at Bree.

BREE

(surprised)

Mrs. Matthews?

Lindsey's mother laughes.

LINDSEY'S MOTHER

No, not anymore. Just call me

Sally. Get in! I will take you

wherever you are going!

BREE

Oh, please. Don't worry about it.

LINDSEY'S MOTHER

No, really! I want to! You helped us so much. At least let me do this for you.

BREE

(smiles)

Okay then.

And she gets in.

AFTER A WHILE:

INSIDE THE CAR.

Lindsey's mother seems totally different. Happy and full of energy.

BREE

I didn't know you could drive.

LINDSEY'S MOTHER

Oh, I couldn't. But I have to know how to do it now. I have to do a lot of things by myself now.

BREE

Sorry about that.

LINDSEY'S MOTHER

Oh, no. It's okay. I'm really

fine. I finally got my freedom

back. And it's all thanks to you.

Bree smiles. At this moment the car gives a sudden jolt.

They obviously drove over something. Bree gets startled.

LINDSEY'S MOTHER (CONT'D)

Sorry.

(after a pause)

Actually, I am still learning to

drive.

(she smiles)

But don't worry about it, I'm

handling it pretty well.

Her words made Bree worried. And as if that weren't enough, after these words, Lindsey's mother makes a wrong turn and starts driving on the wrong side of the road, against the direction of traffic. In addition, she increases speed. Now Bree is really worried.

And at this moment, because of a car coming from the opposite direction, she makes a sharp turn and loses control.

THEN WE SEE:

THE SAME ROAD.

They have had a small accident. The car is slightly damaged from the left hood and bumper part. The headlight is also a little damaged. But Bree and Lindsey's mother were not injured. They have gotten just some minor cuts and scrapes. They have gotten out of the car and there's a police officer standing next to them, filing the accident report.

UNIVERSITY:

CORRIDOR.

The class has ended and Olivia, Steven and a few other guys come out of the lecture hall.

STEVEN

Where is Bree? Why didn't she come to class?

OLIVIA

Yeah... She said she would come.

Wait. I will call her.

STEVEN

(already calling)

I'm doing it.

A HOSPITAL:

Bree is here. She has some small bandages on her head and face. But she looks all right. She gets Steven's phone call and she picks it up.

BREE

Yeah.

BACK TO THE

UNIVERSITY:

STEVEN

Oh hi! Where are you? You didn't

come to class today. It has

already finished. And we are all

waiting for you. Are you okay?

And then whatever he hears on the phone makes his facial expression change.

STEVEN (CONT'D)

(worried)

What? Accident?

Everyone standing around him gets worried when they hear the word "accident". Especially, Olivia.

OLIVIA

Accident?

STEVEN

She's had an accident and she's in the hospital now!

Olivia immediately calls her brother.

KADEN'S OFFICE:

Kaden is sitting at his desk and working on his laptop. At this moment he gets Olivia's call. He picks it up and his face turns pale after hearing the news. He literally jumps out of his seat and runs to the door.
