"Did you really think a useless, plain tool like you could ever truly be my Luna?"For five years, I was the shadow strategist behind Alpha Julian’s empire. I built his wealth, secured his borders, and loved him blindly. But the moment his power was absolute, he stripped me of my title, crowned my cruel stepsister, and threw me to the rogues to cover his tracks.I died in the mud, but the Moon Goddess wasn't finished with me.I woke up in the body of Genevieve—a mute, plus-size outcast princess sold at an elite underground auction to pay off her family's debts. To survive this secondary prison, I adopt a flawless mask: I pretend to be a clumsy, vapid, and entirely brainless doll so the dangerous predators around me ignore me completely. But my plan shatters when I am bought by the most volatile, feared monster alive: Lycan King Robert. He doesn't want a brainless toy. In fact, he looks into my eyes and whispers: "Stop playing dumb, little wolf. I know a killer when I see one."Locked in his dark citadel, we begin a scorching game of cat and mouse. But while Robert tries to strip away my secrets piece by piece, my ex-husband’s empire is crumbling without my mind to guide it. They think I'm dead. They have no idea what's coming.

CHAPTER 1: THE SILENT CROWN
Clara's POV The ink on my fingertips was still wet, bleeding dark lines into the grooves of my skin as I dragged the heavy quill across the parchment. Around me, the air in the archives was thick with the scent of old paper, dust, and the metallic tang of dried blood from the northern defense maps laid out before me. My chest rose and fell in shallow, exhausted rhythms, my ribcage straining against the cheap, stiff cotton of a dress that had grown too tight over months of sleepless, sedentary labor. Outside the high, narrow window of my backroom sanctuary, the earth-shaking rumble of drums vibrated through the stone floor, a constant reminder of the grand victory feast happening just beyond my locked sanctuary. Every single beat of those drums was a testament to the borders I had secured, the trade routes I had balanced, and the treasury I had filled with my own blood, sweat, and silent strategy. Yet, I was hidden away like a shameful secret, buried under the ledgers of the man I loved. The heavy oak door creaked open, and the scent of expensive cologne and fresh pine cut through the musty air, making my heart flutter with a foolish, hopeful leap. "Julian," I breathed, my voice raspy from hours of silence as I looked up from the maps, a soft smile automatically touching my lips despite the crushing fatigue in my bones. He stood in the doorway, clad in a magnificent velvet doublet adorned with the silver crest of the Crescent Moon Pack, his jaw clean-shaven, his dark hair styled perfectly. He didn't look at me; instead, his sharp blue eyes swept over the messy desk, the ink stains on my hands, and the frayed hem of my dull grey dress. A subtle, cold sneer flickered across his handsome face before he quickly masked it with a sigh of irritation. "Still hiding under a mountain of paper, Clara?" he asked, his voice smooth but entirely devoid of the warmth he used to give me when we were younger. "The entire council is waiting for the final treasury reports, and you are sitting here looking like a common maid." "I am finishing the merger documents, Julian," I said, holding up the thick scroll of parchment, my fingers trembling slightly. "The Eclipse Pack's lands are officially ours now; you are the most powerful Alpha in the region, just as we always dreamed." I stood up, stepping toward him, desperately wanting him to hold me, to tell me that the five years of running this pack from the dark, cold shadows had been worth it. I reached out to touch his arm, but the moment my hand drew close, he flinched away, taking a deliberate step back to avoid my touch. "Don't, Clara," he muttered, dusting off his sleeve as if my ink-stained fingers were a plague. "You have ink on your hands, and my doublet is custom-made for the coronation." The rejection was a physical blow, a sudden, cold blade twisting straight into my chest, leaving me breathless. "Julian... it's just us," I whispered, my voice cracking as I looked into the eyes of the man I had sacrificed my youth, my health, and my wolf's training for. "You haven't looked at me in weeks. You haven't touched me. I built this empire for you." He let out a sharp, mocking laugh, his eyes locking onto mine with a cold, piercing intensity that made my skin crawl. "For us?" he sneered, stepping closer, his shadow completely eclipsing my small frame against the desk. "Look at yourself, Clara. Your dress is bursting at the seams, your skin is pale from rotting in this room, and you smell like old paper." "I look like this because I have been working day and night to keep your people fed!" I cried out, the tears finally spilling over my eyelashes, hot and angry. "I balanced the books! I secured the trade routes! I am your fated mate, Julian!" "You are a tool, Clara," he whispered, his voice dangerously low, slicing through the air like a guillotine. "A brilliant, quiet, and completely replaceable tool." My breath hitched, my heart shattering into a thousand jagged pieces inside my chest as the brutal weight of his words settled over me. "What... what are you saying?" I gasped, reaching out to grab the edge of the desk to keep my legs from collapsing beneath me. "A powerful Alpha needs a Luna who commands respect, a woman who turns heads, not a frumpy scribe who hides in the dark," Julian said, his expression completely devoid of mercy. "The pack merger is finalized. I have no more use for you." He turned on his heel, his heavy leather boots clicking sharply against the stone floor as he walked toward the door. "Julian, please!" I screamed, rushing forward, my fingers clawing at the air to catch his cloak, but he was already stepping out into the corridor. "Guards," Julian commanded, his voice booming with the absolute authority of an Alpha. "Lock the doors. She is not to leave this room until the ceremony is concluded." "Julian! No!" I slammed my body against the heavy oak door just as it swung shut, the metallic clank of the deadbolt sliding into place echoing like a death knell in the quiet room. I beat my fists against the wood, my knuckles splitting, leaving smears of fresh, crimson blood against the rough grain. "Let me out! Julian, you can't do this to me!" I screamed until my throat was raw and burning, but my voice was completely swallowed by the deafening roar of the crowd outside. Through the small window, the announcer's voice suddenly boomed over the courtyard, carried by the wind and the cheering of thousands of wolves. "And now, presenting the true heart, the beauty, and the new Luna of the Crescent Moon Pack... Beatrice!" My heart stopped. I dragged myself to the window, my eyes wide with horror as I looked down at the grand altar in the center of the courtyard. There, standing hand-in-hand with Julian under the glowing full moon, was my stepsister, Beatrice, wearing the silver crown that belonged to me. Suddenly, the heavy iron lock on my door didn't click—it shivered. I spun around, my back slamming against the stone wall as the door slowly creaked open, revealing not Julian, but three masked guards holding heavy, silver-tipped daggers.
