“Yes, I understand Elder Watson. Thank you for letting me know.”
Amos hung up the phone and stared off into space deep in thought. We were in our bedroom, a rare moment we have had alone these days. I was almost afraid to ask him what it was about.
“The Elder Council charged Lena with making a false accusation, abuse of power, abuse of a minor for that little boy she whipped, and several other smaller charges. But even though Alpha Simon’s autopsy also determined he died of foxglove poisoning; the Elders found nothing linking Lena to the poison.”
