Gemma’s POV
We met Dr. Rhodes in his office at the hospital. He was seated at his desk with his laptop in front of him.
“Luna Gemma, I am going to come right out and say this. You were correct.” Amos put his arms around me.
“How?” I asked, completely numb.
“Your father died of severe dehydration, related to poisoning. I repeated a toxin screen and it was negative just as it was back at Crescent Moon. I also ordered a preliminary panel, to test his blood for drugs like pain medication and certain heart medications.” Dr. Rhodes took out his laptop and turned it around to face me. He pointed at a highlighted figure on the screen.
“Your father’s digitalis level was elevated to a point our machine couldn’t give a level. Digitalis is a heart medication humans use to treat heart failure. I
