Riley thought one night would ruin her forever. She was right.‎Drugged by her jealous stepsister and pushed into the arms of Landon Cooper, the most powerful billionaire in the city, Riley's life spiraled into chaos. What should have been a mistake became a marriage. What could have been a new beginning became her worst nightmare. Landon married her with hatred in his eyes, convinced she had trapped him. Riley sacrificed everything trying to be the wife he wanted, but he only had eyes for her stepsister. When Landon discovered a lie about her infidelity, he destroyed her completely. He fired her, took her money, and threw her onto the streets with nothing but the clothes on her back.‎‎No one knew about the secret she carried.‎‎Five years later, Riley rose from the ashes. She built a billion-dollar empire from scratch. She became powerful, beautiful, and untouchable. Then Landon walked back into her life, and suddenly he couldn't stop thinking about her. But when he met her daughter at a business meeting, his world shattered. The little girl had his eyes. His face. His blood.‎‎And Riley had been raising her alone the entire time.‎‎Now Landon knows the truth. But does he deserve a second chance? Can Riley ever forgive him?‎‎‎Character Profiles‎‎RILEY ANDREW (Female Lead)‎‎Riley is a hardworking woman raised by a step family that never fully accepted her. Now 29 years old, she has long brown hair, warm hazel eyes, and a gentle face that hides her inner strength. Once timid and broken, Riley transformed into a powerful businesswoman who built her empire from nothing after being abandoned homeless with her daughter five years ago.‎‎LANDON COOPER (Male Lead)‎‎Landon is a 32-year-old billionaire businessman with dark hair, sharp features, and intense gray eyes that show little emotion. Born into wealth and power, he commands respect and fear in every room. Though cold and prideful, Landon is capable of deep love when he finally opens his guarded heart to someone truly worthy of his trust.‎‎EMMA ANDREW (Supporting Character)‎‎Emma is Riley's five-year-old daughter with Landon's dark hair and gray eyes, making her his spitting image. Sweet, curious, and innocent, she knows nothing about her father or the painful past that created her. Emma represents hope and the chance for both Riley and Landon to build something real and beautiful together.‎‎VANESSA HART (Antagonist)‎‎Vanessa is Riley's cruel stepsister, aged 31, with blonde hair and sharp features that mirror her poisonous personality. Born wealthy and spoiled, she's jealous of Riley and will do anything for power and money. Vanessa's manipulation and lies destroy lives but eventually lead to her own downfall and imprisonment.‎‎PLOT OUTLINE:‎‎EXPOSITION: ‎Riley works hard at her stepdad's company doing small jobs. She's quiet and kind, always trying to fit in with her stepsister Vanessa, who's mean and jealous. Vanessa sees Riley as weak and pathetic because their parents love Riley more. Riley has dreams but no confidence. She goes to a fancy party to help set up, wearing a simple dress while everyone else looks fancy and important.‎‎Landon is the most powerful man in the city. He owns huge businesses and comes to the party to meet important people. Everyone wants his attention. He's cold, rich, and in love with Vanessa. Everyone knows this. Vanessa flirts with him hard, trying to make him fall for her. She wants his money and his power. Landon barely looks at anyone else at the party.‎‎INCITING INCIDENT: Vanessa sees Riley at the party and gets an evil idea. She puts something in Riley's drink when no one's looking. Riley gets dizzy and confused. Vanessa pushes Riley into Landon's private room upstairs. Before Riley knows what's happening, she and Landon are together. Riley can't think straight. She keeps saying no, but her body won't listen. She cries the whole time. Landon thinks she wants him, but really Riley is trapped in a fog. The next morning, Riley wakes up alone and scared. She feels sick and dirty. She doesn't tell anyone what really happened.‎‎Vanessa tells Landon that Riley tried to trap him into marriage and that he should fire her. Landon feels angry and used. He marries Riley anyway because his family says it's the right thing to do. But he marries her with hate in his eyes. Riley agrees because she's scared and ashamed. She thinks it's her fault somehow. She becomes his wife in a cold, mean house where no one loves her.‎‎RISING ACTION: Riley tries everything to be a good wife. She cooks his favorite meals. She wears pretty clothes. She stays up late waiting for him. Nothing works. Landon ignores her or yells at her. He spends all his time with Vanessa at work, hugging her, laughing with her, treating her like she's special. Riley watches from far away and her heart breaks into tiny pieces.‎‎One day, Riley finds out she's pregnant. She's terrified but also a little happy. Maybe a baby will make Landon l

CHAPTER ONE : The Party
Riley's POV My palms sweat as I flatten my dark dress, again and again. The cloth feels frail and worn, not like the rich clothes others will wear tonight. Vanessa, in her posh gown, will mock me from afar, I guess. Stepsisters poke at your tender spots, yes? They pinpoint your flaws and push deep. Dad wants me to help prep for the Riverside Hotel bash. He runs a huge land firm, so tonight matters a lot. Big shot folks will show up. I should feel thrilled, yet my core is tense and knotted. I just want to fade away and make Dad happy by acing my task. Standing out seems worse than staying unseen. "Riley, you’re behind," Vanessa barks when I hit the big room. She's near the heart, checking her list like she’s in charge. Her fair hair is styled sharp, and her face looks costly. She seems costly, even when being harsh. "I said be here sixty minutes back." "Sorry. The bus made me late, and—" I try to say, but she stops me with a flick of her hand. "Spare me the details. Go fix the blooms. And try not to wreck them like you wreck all else." She goes, not hearing me, chatting on her device about this dull bash. I keep busy for hours, shifting blooms, aligning seats, and aiding the food staff with tables. Folks ignore me. They don't glance my way. It's okay with me. I prefer it that way. The less they see me, the better. By seven, the room shines like new. Glass lights gleam above us all. Tables wear white clothes. All is spot on. "Go home, change clothes," Dad says as the man shows up. He wears his best suit, looking worn but glad. "Then come back here. Vanessa needs your help through the night." I nod, go to the back door. Of course, Vanessa wants me here. She wants me here so she can see me trip up near VIPs. By eight-thirty, I'm back, in the black dress from before. It's my best piece. Some girls pour drinks and field questions, in matching clothes from the hotel. I'm the odd one in this old dress, sticking out like a sore thumb. The room now teems. Men in fine suits laugh way too loud. Women with good hair and teeth kiss the air. All reeks of cash and strong scents. I snake through the crowd with bubbly, trying to help but hide at once. It's tough to pull off. That's when I spotted him there. Among big shots, he's so unique. Quite tall. Black hair. His face is like sharp rock art. He has a black suit, pricier than my old ride. People want his gaze so bad. This is Landon Cooper, I guess. He's a hot topic at my job. They say he's a big deal here. They say he gives off a spooky vibe. Near the bar, he speaks with Dad. Dad nods, like he's hooked. Dad seems tiny to him, so weird. Landon's gray eyes search, like he seeks something. I stare too long, maybe two ticks, then he sees me. Our eyes lock for a split second. I feel a weird body heat. He doesn't grin at all. He sees me like a chair, then faces Dad. I feel happy and sad mixed up. It is a strange feeling. "You seem parched," Vanessa holds my arm. Her grip hurts, her smile is soft, but her eyes are sharp. They look evil to me. "Here's a drink I made. You work a lot. You earned this." She gives me bubbly champagne. It's gold and fizzy, but has something inside. A thing floats at the bottom, unseen. I can't ask, Vanessa grips my arm. "Drink up," she whispers, voice now icy. Not my stepsister at all. It sounds like she wants to harm me. "Come now. Don't be impolite now." I am busy now. I shouldn't—" I want to give it back, but her grip holds my arm still. "Just a quick sip. You seem so down and blue tonight. This might lift your spirits." She moves the glass to my mouth, and I'm too caught off guard to resist. The drink tastes sugary and fizzy and off. My tongue feels strangely thick. "See? That wasn't too bad, was it?" I see her go, and a strange feeling in my gut says I messed up badly. Soon, the room starts swirling fast. Not just a little. Not like after a light drink. Everything is moving as if I'm deep down. The lights are too sharp. The music's too strong. My legs feel heavy and limp, like they aren't even mine. I try to set down my tray, but I can't find my hands. Fear fills my chest, but even that feels distant and muted. "You good, hon?" A man in black asks, holding my arm. I don't know him. His face looks odd and pulled long. "I need to sit now," I mumble. My own voice sounds oddly foreign to me. The last thing I see is Vanessa's face there, and she's smiling wide. She's smiling like she just got something great. Then someone is leading me out of the hall. Strong hands guide me. A voice I don't place. The smell of rich stuff makes me feel worse. I try to ask where we go, but the words won't form right. "It's fine now," the voice says. It sounds like it's far, far away from here. "Just be calm now. Everything will be just fine." But things aren't so smooth. It feels like stuff will go upside down very soon. I can't guess the strange events that are set to unfold in my life.
