"Well maybe you expected wrong," May folded her arms and rested them on the high countertop so only her face was visible to Han who was standing just opposite to her being the counter.
"I would've done it only if I had your number," he scrunched his nose up, baring his pearly whites in a grin that declared no good intentions. May's face caught on color but she refused to let her pride down hence replying with another scoff and momentarily thought of jotting her number down to hand it to him but shook the idea of as quickly as it had come.
"Whatever, I'll text you if I want to," she shrugged avoiding eye contact with him, and constantly turned around to look if Jamie was still here or not. Her posture softened when she spotted him gently leading an old lady out of the shop and across the street.
"What's your name?", he asked without looking up from the register he was scribbling in and she whipped her head around to face him in a flash. Han looked up at her through his lashes for a second before returning his gaze back to the register. "You do have a name right?"
"Y-yes I do!", she jumped but then cleared her throat trying to act chill. "I mean yeah of course I do, that was dumb," she internally groaned before fixing her hair as another tic, "My name is May. I'm nineteen by the way," she dug her nails into her palms smiling softly.
"Nice to meet you again May, you already know my name. I'm twenty-two by the way," he extended his hand out for her to shake and she bowed politely shaking it. "What would you like to order today? Did you like the cupcakes that day?", he slid his gloves on and picked up the box to fill it with dessert.
"Y-Yeah they were nice I guess," she pressed her lips together as her stomach growled in hunger after she took a sniff of the pretty cakes that the shop was filled with. "What do you think you're best at making?", she asked tilting her head and inhaled the sweet scent of chocolate again.
"Babies."
It took her mind a hot minute to register what he just implied and she immediately gasped loudly. Han laughed softly at her surprise and shook his head picking up his best-selling cupcakes while making sure he didn't give her the same as last time.
"Y-you're so bold," she gaped slapping her hand over her mouth. He just laughed again and hummed placing the now full box on the counter next to her elbow.
"I was just kidding. Anyway would like to taste them before paying or are you running off like last time?", he placed his chin in his palm looking right at her that too up close. She nodded and picked up one of the cupcakes from the box which was decorated with a little cherry on top.
"This is delicious," she moaned wiping the side of her mouth with her thumb and Han gulped training his eyes on the box she was starting to sort through, once again. "Can I taste all of them?", she asked unprovoked and he couldn't bring himself to say no so he invited her behind the counter with him.
"Here, pick and place whatever you want on this and then eat," he mumbled placing a tasting tray in front of her. May got onto her tippy-toes, not nervous after she had realized how delicious the food was, and picked up a baby blue cupcake almost dropping it at first. "Not like that. Let me show you," he sighed softly and delicately picked up the dessert between the tong.
"How long have you been baking?", she asked twirling around to face him. Han hummed and stepped closer causing her body to stiffen. "I've been baking since I was a kid. Why do you ask?", he acted nonchalantly and reached behind her to pick up one of the pastries. May's hand unconsciously held his shirt between her knuckles when his body almost pressed against her and she forgot to let go even when he stepped back.
"What're you doing?", he smirked and she let go of the fabric, immediately freaking out because of how embarrassed she was. "Do you like my shirt? I can take it off for you," he teased already knowing how flustered she would get and that was exactly what happened.
"I-I'm sorry okay! It was an accident," she fidgeted with the tong and picked up a bar of random chocolate to shove into her mouth so she could distract herself. Han smiled softly before his gaze led him to Timmy and Jamie who seemed to be talking about something quite serious, all the while taking glances at May.
"May?", she turned back around but didn't look at him or his face. "Write your number down here if you want," he whispered and walked away to collect more orders. The girl tucked her bottom lip between her teeth and held the pen in her fingers with a thumping heart.
"May! Let's go I've paid for you," Tim announced waving his arm up in the air for her. She looked up and picked her box of cupcakes before running up to both the boys. When her eyes wandered around for the same boy again, Jamie bit down a grin.
"Looking for Han, right? He's over there," she followed his gaze, and when he winked at her mischievously May could only blush and run back out. The two boys laughed softly in confusion and followed her to the bike after bidding Han farewell.
"So, what is your deal with him?", Jamie teased caging her in his arms, and leaned forward to start the motorcycle's engine. May stuttered and jumped over her words to make sense out of it only for Tim to groan and speak on her behalf. His words left both of them stunned and quiet at once.
"She obviously has a crush on him bruh."
