Chapter 3 ( The first meeting)

The two jets landed safely on the carrier's airway and parked at the left hangar along with other Tomcats. The pilots got out as soon as the canopy burst open, descended with couple of hands helping him and Avril back on their feet. They took off the helmets and put on the sun glasses ( like that in Top Gun ) which made them looked bad ass in slow motion capture, if one ever manage to record a video of them.  Trigger and Avril made their way to the command room where Captain Anderie stationed at to give the reports of their finding. A fleet consisted of nine ships were on course 100 miles south of the Kestrel position. They opposed no threat, seemingly bewildered of a sudden and strange encounter with the jets which have never ever been seen before anywhere. Captain Anderie ordered for the carrier to increase speed up to 30 knot towards the coordinates of the fleet spotted. About an hour later, the men on bridge caught the figures of third quarter of wooden ships sailed in slow pace. Surely soon the counterpart would easily catch the glimpse of the carrier's gigantic body afloat the ocean waters as well.  The distance between the two parties began to get closer and closer. Upon 200 meters away from the carrier, the crews of Maiale Royal ship and the rest of the escort naval vessels were astonished and dumbfounded upon the scenery before their eyes. A giant steeled grey body of a ship-- no! A fortress to be precised ( on their POV) majestically floated on the water like a moving island. They were soon cut off by a voice spoke with a large volume greeted the alien presence.     "To all that on  board unknown ships. Please stand down and rest assured, we meant no harm upon  your fleet by any necessaries. I would like to know who is in charge of your convoy, if you may?" the voice stated in Common Tongue, added much to the expeditionary fleet's bewilderment. Just who are these people and where did they come from? Such min questions raged inside their minds, while the captain of the ship stood out. "That would be me, as a captain for this convoy deployed by our king from the kingdom of Saldona,"  Captain Galileo answered the voice from the carrier.  "Very well, then.  Please stand by, I will have my men get you on board our ship and we can discuss further here." The voice replied. Minutes later, a platform of the bridge descended with a woman in her strange white attire accompanied by blue weird pattern uniforms of what looks like guards with strange black staffs on each of their hands behind the white woman. She stepped forward and shook hands with Galileo. The introduction session began.  "Gretings. I am Captain Jess Anderie of the Novan Maritime & Navy Force. Nice to meet you, captain." "The pleasure is mine. I am Captain Galileo, the one leading this fleet. I assume that you are not from the Jovannes Empire then?" "Oh no, we are not! Although we could say that their technological specs are on par with WW2 Erusia back from our world, that is not the concern right now," She replied. "Wait, what do you mean by 'from our world'? Are you not from around here actually?" Galileo was confused with this claim. For him, even though magic exists this simply not just somethings that would slide off unnoticed unless...... "To be exact, yes. How about we get to the meeting room first? I'm sure we can have lots of things to talk about there with some convenience," Captain Anderie proposed.  Captain Galileo accepted the offer and were told to bring a few selective officials available and two common crews to embark on Kestrel. He, along with Rianni,  mage Yasol, Diplomat Ruyqa and Gordo with two sailors got onto the ship and guided the way to the meeting room by the captain while being guraded by the men in blue.  On their way, they could not help but gazed more of the iron birds docked on the carrier by their wings folded upward, some having weird blade-like shaped wings on top instead of the ones on sides with different forms and sizes. This alone drained them off the mental energy they had. Entering the inside of the carrier put even more tolls to them. The interior was far brighter and more clean than any ship they have ever boarded. Such marvel could not possibly attained unless you are a high level mage, but even Yasol was baffled by the feats as he would surely need to sustain a huge portion of mana and magic energy to be able to acquire the same outcome the ship performed. The members of delegation were all amazed and in awe with lots of things inside of the aircraft carrier.  Upon arriving at the meeting room, all guests were offered their seats and help themselves to suit up with the place. Captain Anderie, accompanied by Trigger, Avril, diplomat Takeda and Gnarling took the opposite site of the oval table and introduced themselves. They proceed with with explanation of their nation sudden appearance on this world and general info of country Nova. The Saldona guests, hearing this after they stated about themselves as well were in total shock. A nation got transferred to another world was a similar case with Moor empire, their only ally from the Civilized region.  The Saldona party told the Novans the empire first appeared three thousand years ago under the same phenomenon and established a new kingdom and made themselves known throughout Terra, the planet they live now. The captain of Kestrel and the diplomats kept a mind note about this discoveries and ought to give reports to government higher ups in HQ.  "So, tell me captain Anderie. What will be your country's next move after you make yourself home to our world? Surely you are not some kind of invasive power to other kingdoms, I supposed?" Mage Yasol inquired this to the counterpart party. He was still in worries because of the divination he saw previously that he had to make sure the Novans meant no hostility towards others, especially his which already about in a state of war with the kingdom of Vaneria to expand their territory, much like the Rowanda Imperial of the Second Region.  "We would like to form a diplomatic ties with your country as the first political relationship with this world as well as fullfiling other purposes like the economic and cultural relationships with your government. After all, we need to reboost our economy to it's original state and required access to some resources from your country's soil. That is, if we are in agreement and understanding to each other." Diplomat Takeda responded. "Well, certainly! Why make enemies when we can make friends, as I would say. I will sent a request to our king to held an official conference for your party to attend. In the meantime, do you mind to take us on a tour of your ship?" said diplomat Gordo. "Be my guest, then. Would you like to take some time sending the letter to your king?" "Oh, just a moment. I will notify His Majesty via manacom on our ship and guarantee you to get a reply as soon as possible." Trigger was quite surprised to know that albeit medieval and not advanced, Saldona seemed to gain a form of wireless communication technology not empowered by science instead, but magic. Yes, MAGIC does exist in this world. He still need some time to get this to his head. Same thing with Avril. The captain and the diplomats, however showed a composed and professional guise to deal with such matter. She simply gave a nod and ordered two of the guards to escort the Saldona delegation back to their ship, the Maiale.  Meanwhile with the crews, The men gathered at the ships' deck to have a closer look on the grey ship towering their own, a menacing aura unleashed from the large vessel, filled them with fear. After a short while, the platform moved down once again, returning the captain, mage, the duchess and comrades safely to the royal fleet side again. Lots of questions rained down the delegation party before disengaged by the captain's order to set sail back to the kingdom and report to the king. Before departing, the fleet looked back at the carrier for the last time until they meet again, they cruised away back to Saldona kingdom. Along the way, the captain and diplomats told them everything while their time on board the massive floating fortress. The rest of the crews were in disbelief and awe after they heard the story of Nova. Surely that nation was something to be reckon with.  Rianni, the duchess meanwhile did not listen to the full statement of the Nova party back in  the meeting room. Her attention were caught on by the figure in the name of Trigger, one of the pilot who spotted her fleet. Somehow, her heart started beating fast and she felt a strange feelings inside her. Like a butterfly trapped in her belly wanting to be free. And through the meeting with the Novans, she kept her eyes locked onto him under the silence of her being. Luckily he seemed to not mind it whatsoever. A very fine young man with a reserved attitude, wonder if he was claimed already. That was until Grand Mage Yasol called out on her a question which snapped her out to reality.  "Milady, ma'am. Did you hear me?" "wh--wha?? Sorry sir Grand Mage, what was that?" "I ask about your opinion regarding their request to initiate the official meeting with our kingdom. Any of thoughts?" "W-well, from now on let's just proceed with their request but make sure to keep an eye on them to see where this talk would take direction to. After all, we ought to see what they can offer to us. If we could utilize their effort and assistance to our aid then that would be beneficial to our kingdom, is it not?" Yasol and the diplomats thought of her point for a moment followed by a slight nod.  "I supposed you are right, Lady Rianni. Very well, let's go home folks. Set sail back to Saldona. Drop the sail and steer thirty degrees starboard! Mantain five knot speed and look out for any pirate fleet, battle stations!" sometimes later, en route back to Saldona, "Hey, Captain. I still do not get one thing." A crewmate said to Galileo. "What is it, Faele?" "Why won't they let us dock on their port to see their country for a while before we go back?" "They stated that they are still handling the situation regarding national security issue and currently the Novan Maritime Force is conducting monsters cleansing off their territorial waters as we speak," Galileo explianed. "Hu--hunting the monsters??!!! You mean the m-monsters from the Sea of No Man??!!! Surely you jest, right captain? The ocean is the beasts' turf! Not to mention the legendary Foltavor and Kraken that lurk and rule the water, no one has ever succeed in taking them down for centuries!" "Well, I myself was in disbelief too the first time I been informed they are doing it. But they guaranteed us an assurance the task will be settled eventually. 'It will be hard, but no impossible' is what I recall the last sentence the captain told me." "Can they really do it, though?" "Let's just pray them for the best. Maybe they got some methods we are not familiar with," Captain Galileo gave a sense of logical reasoning.  The conversation went along the way killing some time before they harbored safely at Wrindel Port.  Sea of No Man, Nova Territorial water A Kosatka class submarine NMNS Orca propelling silently 500 feet below the surface 43 miles off the Southern Front Naval Base. It's sonar continuously beeping the PING waves to surrounding, looking for signs of life.  The submarine skipper, Cpt. Sergei D. Ronovic applied his skills and experience wisely that the fast attack boat managed to tie three dozens kill on its belt. Sofar, the sea monsters she slayed were under category 1 class of super beasts ( not by Kaiju usual standard as it's referred to animal kingdom one, simply Dinosaur-like scale), meaning its not that hard of a fight to put on. But still pose lethal threat to civillians and personnels.  Half an hour later, the Sonarman detected something large swimming to the sub's location. The ping did caught it's attention and it felt irritated that there was another apex predator appeared on its hunting ground. Captain Ronovic ordered to stop the submarine and stayed still until the target was in firing range.  The beast swam at fast face towards the submarine, darting from below. Its snout pointing to the boat with mouth wide open, revealing three rows of dagger-like triangular teeth ready to tear a chunk of flesh out of the new rival.  "Tube flood ready. Solution ready, torpedo ready. Firing ready" "Set target on the coordinates, and fire" 3 seconds passed. "Target's coordinates locked!" "FIRE!!" The torpedo door opened, a Mk 38 medium torpedo lunged out and dashed forward to its designated target  below. the operator manning the sensor and visual of the torpedo detected a big heat signal with a familiar shape.... "God..... Is that.....?" "Looks like Megalodon to me, Landish" "We are firing on a giant prehistoric 60 feet shark, Polkov. How am I supposed to feel about this?" "hey now, you dino geek. calm down. As far as you adore the creature, we have to take it down or this sub will be our coffin soon if you being softie now. Priorities over habits, damn it," ".....You are right. Contact with Sierra 12 in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..." "IMPACT!!" A loud explosion could be heard even if you don't use the headphone outside of the submarine, causing a little shake vibrated throughout the steel body of the boat. Several seconds passed after the explosion in silence as the kill is yet to be confirmed by Sonarman Landish.  "Captain, it's a hit..."  "Good. Now, deploy the sea scan to set visual on our kill. This one is quite bigger than we encountered before." "Aye, aye captain!" A mini version of unmanned submersible dropped out of the Orca turning on the search lights, it browsed for visible evidence of the shark's remnants. 15 yards underneath it the body of the Foltavor slowly sank to the bottom of the ocean covered by gushing blood and bits of its flesh trailing its way below the abyss. The sea scan record a video of the footage and snapped few pics of it for report to the HQ.  "Nice work, everyone. Now let's go back to base. Drinks on me tonight. NMNS Orca, Hurrah!" "HURRAH!"
