Happy reading all, Loads of love ******* *edited* Honey was getting very annoyed with this new client. He was more interested in flirting than getting to the business deal. When she couldn't bear with his lines anymore, she politely got up and excused herself. She had told him that she had to go to the restroom. She washed her hands and looked at herself in the mirror. She sighed. She didn't think she looked one bit attractive. Why the man outside waiting with her coffee was flirting, she has no idea. She walked out slowly, having the intentions to slip away but just then he waved to her and smiled. She cursed under her breath and took her seat. She was continuously looking at her watch and wondered if this man would ever talk about business. She finally asked him if he was going to give them the contract. He smiled sheepishly. "The deal sounds great. But the deal will be finalised only the owner of the company would come and confirm it." What?! She listened to this man's s**t for nothing. All in vain."And when would I have the pleasure of meeting your boss?" She enquired, hiding that she was extremely annoyed. "Shortly" he said. "Ah.. There!" he said pointing to a man. Her heart skipped a beat, as she turned in her chair to get a look at the man who was to sign the agreement. Her breathing changed rapidly as she took in his appearance. She momentarily closed her eyes but turned back, shaking her head. I'm just imagining! It is so not him! It is not him, don't panic. She kept telling herself and calmed down to her best ability. This deal is very important and I cannot lose this. As good as losing my job if I lose this! This short man went running and talked to his boss. She recognised this physique. Broad shoulders and a tall, lean but well built man. He looked very appealing. The suit hugged him perfectly, giving a good estimation of his muscles underneath it. He walked, vaguely listening to what the other man was saying. She knew who it was. Oh she was still in love with him, of course she knew who he was. She thought she was going to faint. Please let it not be him! Anyone but him. He came to the table and looked at her. His greeting smile disappeared, his lips drew into a thin line and his eyes were filled with cold darkness that made her feel disappointed. The small hope that it was not him, somewhere in the corner of her mind was crushed like an ant under an elephant's foot. She stood up and equalled him in a cold stare. A challenge he wants? A challenge he gets! 'This is a very important one. You should ensure we get the contract' she remembered her boss' words. Her boss was counting on her. She told herself she had to get this contract, come what may! She tried to stop looking at him with such hatred filled eyes. "Uh.. Excuse me sir, I will take your leave now. The deal sounds good. But of course sir, the final decision is yours" the other man smiled at her. How would the man know of the deal when he hadn't heard about it all. She could see him wink as he walked out of the door, making her mentally gag. She had already had a tiring day and it was quarter past seven. She didn't want anything more than to go home, have a cup of hot chocolate and have a peaceful sleep. Oh she definitely wanted to finish reading the book she started earlier this morning. But she was determined to get this contract. She initiated the smile. He gestured her to sit down and sat after she did. His manners were unaltered. The waiter brought two glasses of champagne. He then left them alone. The arrogant, stubborn and the hateful man sitting in front of her wasn't going to start the conversation, that much she knew. She inhaled deeply and looked at him, taking her back to the good old days. She didn't want to remember that day, at all. It had been so terrible and it took a really long time for her to put at the back of her head. "Sir, I would like to know whether the deal is finalised? Do we get the contract sir?" she emphasised on 'sir'. He couldn't believe it... He wondered how she could manage to talk to him with such ease. He wanted to put her to a test. He smiled and said "It depends". She looked at him waiting for more information, not showing that she was extremely bewildered that he should smile. "On what sir?" she asked. "Come with me" he said, rising up. She shot up a brow. If he had anything going on in that head of his, she was happy to chop it off! "I just want to talk. That's why we are here, isn't it?" he smiled. She knew there was an entirely different meaning to whatever he said. She followed him outside nonetheless. His Limousine was parked right in front and he gestured her to get in. She gave him a warning look before stepping inside. He shut the door, coming and sitting next to her. She looked a little alarmed and she knew he smiled inwardly, enjoying this. How typical of him! "Why should I sign this contract?" he asked looking at her, coming straight to the point, or at least that's what she thought. "The details are here" she said opening her laptop. As she got involved in explaining, she was too busy to notice where his eyes were. She looked up only to see his eyes fixed on her. Was he even listening to her? She wanted to laugh out loud but she just barely managed to control her laughter. "You are so irritating I swear to" she was cut off by him. "Is that a way to greet your husband? No I miss you?" he said. Well yes, he was her husband. Who she still loved apparently. But there was no way she was going to tell him that. Why should she? "If you don't remember..we broke up" she hissed angrily. The driver scurried out of the car when Nick asked him to.
