She sat down on the bed breathing heavily. She had finished moving all her things to the guest room, which she had designed herself.
"Whew" She wiped her forehead.
"Yes, it must have tired you completely to move one flower vase, from one room to another."
She smiled. Yes, Nick was a sweetheart. He had done all the moving. "You offered to help, I didn't ask you for it" she shrugged.
"Yeah yeah. Come here now and give me what I earned."
She hooked her index finger and motioned for him to come closer. When he bent his head, she kissed his cheek for the briefest second and moved away.
"Oh no no no" Nick caught hold of her and pulled her closer. "Don't play smart with me."
"You told me I'd have to kiss you if you moved my stuff and I did. You never mentioned where I was to kiss you" she chuckled.
"Minx" he whispered and planted a kiss on her forehead as he let her go.
"Why didn't you come get me earlier?" she asked, out of the blue.
"Earlier today?"
"No. Earlier five years ago" she said.
His smile flew right out of his face. "Maybe because you left. Who was I to say anything?"
"Husband maybe? And funny, that's not what you're doing now, right? Now you're not letting me go" she folded her arms over her chest.
"I'm not the same fool anymore" he said, gritting his teeth.
"What kind of a fool are you now then?"
The one that let you into my heart again, to cloud my judgement again.
"I'm nit forcing you to stay, you may leave when you want to. Why did you leave five years ago if you wanted me to come get you? You were already with me, or so I thought."
With that, he walked out, leaving her to herself.
Never had she thought that she'd be using it one day. She sighed, closing her eyes as her head hit the soft pillow beneath. Nick saw her sleeping peacefully when he entered. She was breathing slowly, her breasts rythamically rose and fell. He was mesmerised.
How did I manage to live without her these many years?
He went close to her and brushed aside her hair. She looked so beautiful when she was sound asleep. At least she wasn't fighting with him now. He covered her with a blanket.
She smiled, snuggling close and laid her head on his hands. Was she awake? He got the answer immediately. Her eyes shot open and she would have screamed the house down if he wasn't quick enough to cover her mouth.
She bit his hand and pushed it off. She sat up, hugging the blanket as it were here dear life. She looked down at the blanket and looked at him confused.
"Did you think it was me?" he asked, putting up a brilliant act, walking towards the door. "I know it was you" she said, confidence on a new level.
He turned around and shot up a brow. "It must have been Mrs. Molly. I am just a cruel and a cunning bastard who is here to take advantage of you, remember?"
"Ringing bells?" he asked before going out. She had said this to him, years ago. And when he had asked her what she meant, she had scoffed. Like he didn't know. She had convinced herself that he had been putting up an act. Ah so he's gone down the memory lane? Fine.
You really are!!
She shut her eyes as she inhaled deeply, the mouth watering aroma of bacon called out to her. She jumped out of the bed, thoroughly excited. She wasn't going to let Nick ruin her mood.
She ran down and saw Mrs. Molly in the kitchen. Nick wasn't around, thankfully. She went in and hugged Mrs. Molly, who smiled knowingly. "How is the angry dragon now?" she asked. Honey's lips curled at the sides.
"I'm happy you're back with us" said Mrs. Molly. "And thank you Mrs. Molly, for the blanket" she smiled.
"What blanket?" she casually asked, setting the plates. "You covered me with a blanket while I was asleep, yes?" she asked, helping her set the table.
"Who told you? Nick?" she asked. Honey nodded, making her smile to herself. "Don't you know him, Honey? He obviously doesn't want you to know it was him."
"Mrs Molly I'm very hungry. I might die this instant" he came in smiling. But his expressions changed when he saw her. He cleared his throat, a formal outlook taking over the carefree look he had just worn.
"I'd like my food please, Mrs Molly" he was drained of the humour in his eyes with which he had entered. He walked out before he heard any reply.
Honey didn't like this one bit and excused herself. The pillow which she hugged to her chest, was soon soaked with the tears she shed. She didn't know how long she sat there.
I don't want to cry! I will not, especially not for him!
There was a knock on the door, making her lie down immediately. Slowly she wiped her tears, ensuring whoever it was didn't know she cried.
She didn't move. She knew it was Nick. She could tell by his cologne. He bent down to confirm that she was asleep.
He noticed that the pillow was soaking wet. He sighed softly. It broke him inside to know that she had been crying.
No, She deserves it!
He was battling with himself. "I know you're very much awake. Come and have lunch." There was no response. "Just get up, Honey" he said loudly. When there was still no movement he touched her moist face.
She pushed his hands away, sitting instantly. "Get out" she said harshly. She didn't want him to know she had cried. She didn't want him to know that his actions affected her.
"I know you cried and that's good. At least I know you have feelings" his remark only made her shut her eyes.
"Come down now Honey. It's food time" he said as he walked away. She wasn't going anywhere. She'd prefer to starve than to eat with him.
She just fell back on the bed involuntarily. She opened her eyes when she felt a soft hand shake her awake to see a worried Mrs. Molly.
"Dear god! She is okay" she beamed and kissed Honey's forehead. "Nick, come now!" she screamed. Within no time Nick had arrived at the door, panting like a dog that had run for miles.
She closed her eyes and placed her hands on them. "My head hurts. I just want to be alone for some time please."
"Sure, I understand you want to spend time with him" said Mrs Molly, winking. "No!" she said instantly.
"Nothing like that Mrs Molly. I want to be completely alone. All by myself. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shoo you away" she spoke weakly.
"Please excuse us Mrs Molly" Nick's powerful voice rang in her ears. "Mrs Molly please stay. Don't go" Honey said softly. Mrs Molly smiled and walked out, leaving the two alone.
Betrayer!!
Nick closed the door and reached for her, making her gasp softly. Though she tried to move, her body just wasn't listening to her.
