Theresa POV
As I passed through the university's iron gates, a sense of normalcy flowed over me, bringing a little relief from the maelstrom of emotions that had overtaken me since my meeting with him. I then realized I hadn't even asked him his name. I'm not sure why, but something in me has been calling for him ever since he left in the morning. I was terrified of the impression he left on me.
The bustling campus, the bustle of students, and the aroma of freshly made coffee in the air provided a feeling of familiarity to my jumbled thoughts. As I navigated my way toward the lecture hall, I took a deep breath in an attempt to calm my pounding heart. Students were catching up after the summer holiday in the corridors, their laughing and discussions providing a soothing soundtrack. But, in the middle of the mundane, I couldn't help but sense a lingering weight on my shoulders, a hidden universe waiting to be revealed.
My class was in the afternoon, so the halls were more crowded as the students from the morning shift were still there. My gaze fell on the group of my university friends who were laughing at some random joke.
"Hey, what's up guys!" I chimed in while hugging my best friend, Kate. She hugged me back tightly.
"Hey Thressa, how are you? How did your adventure go in the woods?" Jessica asked while twirling her hair.
"Oh, it went smoothly" I lied with a fake smile. Her eyes fell on the bandage that was a bit shown from under the hoodie sleeve.
"You got hurt?" her fake concern wanted to make me roll my eyes at her.
Kate instantly got worried and checked my arm in a panic.
"It's not a big deal, just got some scratches" I tried to assure her.
"I was never in favor of you going to that forest alone, but you, being a stubborn one, had to go. Couldn't you wait till I return to the city? Then we could have gone together." She gave me a scolding stare.
"The blood moon comes after a long time. I didn't wanna miss the chance. Plus I am fine, aren't I?" I nudged her and gave her my best cute face.
"Oh come on Kate, she is fine. Thresa tells us more about the night. Did you see the werewolves?" Cristal spoke up from beside Jesica with a curious look in her eyes.
All of their attention shifted to me, even Mia, who was using her phone, stopped using it and looked up to hear my answer.
"Of course not, guys. They are just myths. I told you that werewolves exist in your fantasy only." My heart was racing while answering this question. Though I was saved last night, it left a slight trauma on me. Even just the thought of the scene made my whole body shiver.
"No, they are not. One day I will make you believe that they exist in real life". Mia rolled her eyes at me and resumed reading her novel on the mobile.
Before I could say anything further, the bell rang. I grabbed Kate's hand and ran for the class as we both had the same class.
Thankfully, the professor had not arrived, so we quickly settled in our seats.
"Are you okay?" Kate asked again while arranging her things on the table.
"Cheer up, girl. I am fine. Tell me how your weekend went with the family?" I asked, as she had gone to her hometown for the holidays.
Suddenly, her eyes started shining and began to tell about her experiences during her stay in her family's hometown. Kate has been my best friend since childhood. We lived in the same neighborhood, went to the same school and now we are going to the same university. She was like my half-mom and the most sensitive and dramatic girl I had ever seen. Though she was not my blood sister, she was more than that.
As soon as our English professor came, the chaos subsided down and a pin-drop silence spread all over the room. Our professor was a young lady in her early thirties. Just by the frown on her face, we all knew that this course would be a tough one.
She was about to introduce herself when the ringing of a girl's phone disturbed the whole class.
"You, stand up!!" she shouted. "Don't you know that it's unethical to keep the ring of your phone onn during class? You youngsters only know how to play on the phone. You people never pay attention to your studies. Do you guys know how expensive this university is? Consider yourself lucky to be studying here. All you do is ask for money from your parents and play all day long. Let me make one thing very clear to you all, there are some rules in my class that you all must follow. Firstly, you all must be seated before I come into the class. Secondly, there will be absolute grading for this course. I do no favoritism, so if you won't study do, then you won't pass the course and, last but not least, I want discipline in my class, so keep your electronic gadgets off when you come to my class, understand!!!" she made us all quiver in fear.
We all nodded our heads while the professor gave detention to that girl. She then gave a quick introduction to herself and turned to the whiteboard. As soon as she was about to write her first letter, the door of the lecture theater opened and a boy walked in. All of my heads went to the door, and my breath hitched. It was Him. I rubbed my eyes to see if it was him or if I was dreaming. My heartbeat went on a marathon.
His eyes scanned all over the class and finally settled on me. A small smile formed on his face and he was about to walk towards me when the shout of the professor stopped him.
"Where do you think you are going, young lad?"
"Damm, she is gonna kick his ass" Kate whispered from beside me. My grip on the pen tightened as I observed the scene. I could hear the murmur of the students. Some were excited about seeing the show while others were admiring his beauty. Girls were drooling at his sight. And why should they not? He was looking hot in his black hoodie and plain black pent.
"I am going to my seat, Miss" he shrugged.
"You are not allowed to sit in my class today. Next time come early or I will kick you out of the class for a week", she signaled him to go out.
He raised his eyebrows. I knew that he was about to argue with him. I didn't want him to be on bad terms with her on the first day of the class, so I tried to signal him to stop but he didn't look my way.
"Are you new here?" He asked an unexpected question.
The professor must have felt a bit offended but she covered her expressions
"Yeah, but I know how to handle lads like you."
Something snapped in him. I could feel the shift in the air. He was angry.
"It's better for you to mind your own business and leave me alone. Or you won't come to a good end'' His voice was thick and dominating. He ignored her and went straight in my direction. He pushed the guy that was sitting at my other side and sat there.
The professor was still in her place, without moving an inch. After a few seconds, she regained her composure and started teaching.
"That was so cool!!" a girl from behind me said to him.
He just ignored her and grabbed my hand. I tried to break free from his hold but he moved to my ear.
"Baby girl, I am really on the edge right now, let me calm down or I swear this class will turn into a blood bath", he then put his head on my shoulder, shocking everyone including Kate.
I signaled to her that I would explain this to her later.
"I missed you the entire morning" he mumbled.
I kept quiet because I didn't know what to say. This was all too sudden and too unexpected for me.
"Why are you here?" I asked the basic and first question that came to my mind.
"I took admission to all the courses that you have enrolled in. Now I can see you all the time, Are you happy?" if this was another situation, I would have shouted at him for being this clingy and possessive, but I don't know why I was delighted at the idea of seeing him all the time.
"Why would I be? Oh, I suddenly remembered that I never got your name." I looked at him for an answer.
"Arch Grey" he replied while tugging a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Arch Grey" I tested, the name rolled off my tongue so smoothly stirring up rays of sparks in my veins. "Theresa Rose, Nice to meet you" I put forward my hand for a handshake.
"Nice to meet you too, baby girl", he kissed the back of my hand while putting his head on my shoulder again. I knew that I was here in the class to study and get good grades, but now it seemed that I wouldn't even be able to pass this semester because all of my attention was on him rather than the classroom.
